Bachelor contestant Rachel Nance helped shed a light on racism from viewers. Bachelor Nation host Jesse Palmer implored fans of the franchise to knock off the rude and racist messages. Unfortunately it’s still a problem but Jenn Tran had the best sassy response.

Jesse Palmer Calls Out Racism In Bachelor Nation Franchise

Rachel Nance had a lot to tell on the Season 28 Women Tell All special. The contestant from Joey Graziadei’s season recounted some of the horrible, racist DMs she got from viewers, especially after the Hometown Date that celebrated her Filipino culture.

She tearfully broke down over the hate and was consoled by Joey Graziadei. Jesse Palmer also expressed his regret over the actions of some viewers. He directed some of his comments directly to the haters.

“Here’s the thing, Bachelor Nation. We love your strong opinions. I think it’s so important that we uplift these women, who are brave enough to be vulnerable and to share their stories with Joey and with all of us at home. These women, they deserve our praise and not our hate.”

Bachelorette Star Has Sassy Response To Racist Message

Unfortunately, Jesse Palmer’s plea to stop the hate didn’t help. Jenn Tran was named the first Asian-American Bachelorette. Her casting has been controversial, especially among viewers who prefer not to see diversity in the franchise.

Jenn Tran recently opened up her DMs to invite viewers to name the Taylor Swift song the previous episode reminded them of. As a full-fledged Swiftie, Jenn regularly posts her choice for “Song of the Week.” Some of the previous choices included the songs previous songs have been “Sparks Fly,” “Karma,” “State of Grace,” and “Jump Then Fall.”

But according to bachelornation.com, at least one of the responses to the question was a diss against Jenn Tran instead of a Taylor Swift song. The outlet reports that the hateful message asked how Jenn Tran can see out of eyes that “barely open.”

The Bachelorette lead was quick with the clap back. “First of all, not on Taylor Swift song day!!! How rude!” She then turned the insult around and trolled the troll with a sassy response.

“Second of all, if you’re gonna make a racist comment to hurt me, you’ll have to try a little harder than with something I’ve been hearing since I was a kid.”

Get ’em, Jenn!

Despite the hate, Jenn Tran is happy with her Bachelorette journey. Check out the emotional mid-season trailer below. Don’t miss new episodes every Monday on ABC at 8 PM Eastern.
