Both are the first couple to get a divorce as The Golden Bachelor series was in its inaugural season. Although the marriage didn’t pan out, Theresa has been turning a new leaf since they said, “adieu.” When the marriage came to an end, she went back to family and friends to heal her broken heart. Likewise, she is carrying on in her job and focusing on being the best caring grandma and mom, which keeps her heart lifted. Plunging into her post-divorce life, she isn’t wasting a minute refilling her cup with joy. She keeps a life around the most important people to her. Undeniably, she is rebranding her life away from The Golden Bachelor and taking back the foundational truths that keep her afloat.

But is Theresa Nist’s new image throwing shade at Gerry Turner at the same time? While Theresa seems to be cutting ties with The Golden Bachelor the best she can, now some believe she is coming across as the victim. According to Screen Rant, “Since the divorce announcement, Theresa has branded herself as a kindly grandmother, implying she is innocent in the split.” Undeniably, many fans got a bad taste in their mouths after learning that the sweet, widowed grandpa, Gerry, had a live-in girlfriend who didn’t have many good things to say about him.
Sadly, many Bachelor Nation fans began to question what was true since Gerry was painted as a restauranteur who hadn’t dated since losing his wife, Toni Turner, of 43 years. While the reason given for the divorce was the logistics of having kids and grandkids in different states, some believe there is more to it than meets the eye. But many people took Theresa’s side after the divorce since Gerry’s reputation was previously stained by the scandal.
Geographical Challenges
Undoubtedly, there is always more than one side to a story. Without a doubt, both Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner played a part in the decision to divorce. Before the marriage, both parties knew there were geographical challenges. When joining The Golden Bachelor, it was upfront that Theresa was living in New Jersey and Gerry in Indiana. However, it was still the reason they announced when parting ways. Seemingly, there was more to the story, but Theresa and Gerry have a right to share what they want with the public. All things considered, they went through a life-altering experience to find each other, jumped at the chance of a quick wedding on TV, and then had a public breakup. Seemingly, not all that glitters is gold.
Gerry Turner’s Reputation Is Still Suffering
While both Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner contributed to the divorce, Gerry’s reputation took the brunt of the blow. Although it is difficult to say exactly why he came out looking so much worse, he did. Theresa and Bachelor Nation appeared to forgive his grievances before the Golden Wedding. But the scars were ripped open after the divorce. Notably, Gerry still has a following and is attempting to gain ground with those he has lost along the way. Unfortunately, his efforts aren’t getting as much reception as Theresa Nist’s rebranding.

Perhaps his image is seeing the effects of his openness to pursue new women. Theresa Nist’s journey is taking her on an inward path of healing amongst the very people she cherishes most. Furthermore, suggestions are being made that Gerry should take a page out of Theresa’s book. Some people think he needs to throw his life back into being the best dad and grandpa possible. Instead of having an image of being on the prowl, some believe his image could gain points with the public if he shares quality moments from his family. However, others think that Gerry deserves to live however he wants to. Undeniably, he is 72 years old and should embrace the life he wants to live.
