Lucille Ball’s Son Desi Arnaz Jr. 71, Unrecognizable In Rare Pic

Lucie Arnaz Shares Rare Pic Of Desi Arnaz Jr.
On Saturday, Lucie shared a couple of photos featuring her younger brother Desi. In the caption, she thanked Nick Luckinbill for a wonderful meal with their “special guest,” referring to her brother. She wrote, “Desi is alive and well, my friends – just likes to stay a bit ‘undercover.'”
Lucie went on to share that she was in Las Vegas for the weekend with her husband, Larry. There was a tribute to him during the 35th Anniversary of Star Trek V celebration at The Treksperts Convention. He played Spock’s brother, Sybok, in Star Trek V.
Though the post was largely about their weekend in Vegas, people couldn’t get over seeing Desi Arnaz Jr. after nearly a decade out of the spotlight. Desi stepped away from the public eye after the death of his wife, Amy Arnaz, in 2015.
In the photos she shared, Lucie can be seen resting her head on her brother’s shoulder. Fans couldn’t help but notice how completely different he looked.
“Great to see both of you together,” one person commented. Another noted how much Desi Arnaz Jr. looks like his dad, whom he is named after.
“So happy to see Desi Jr enjoying his life as he well pleases!” a third fan exclaimed. “Glad he’s able to find a peace beyond the spotlight.” A fourth recalled having a crush on Desi when they were younger.
Not all commenters were kind though. One person suggested that Desi Arnaz Jr. looked “homeless” due to his long beard and plain clothes. However, fans took to his defense in the comments stating that he may just like to be comfortable and, more importantly, doesn’t want to be recognized.
Desi Jr.’s Life In The Spotlight
Desi Arnaz Jr. and Lucie Arnaz are the children of Hollywood superstars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Lucille and Desi first met each other when filming the musical comedy Too Many Girls in 1940.

Six months after they met, the couple eloped. Then, on July 17, 1951, they welcomed Lucie into the world. Only 18 months later Desi Arnaz Jr. was born. Coincidentally, his birth coincided with the birth of Lucille’s fictional son Ricky’s birth on I Love Lucy.
Many people believed that Lucille Ball gave birth on the show, but Desi set the record straight during a 1991 interview. He said that he was born on Monday morning and the episode aired that night. And, contrary to popular belief, he didn’t play the role of Lucy’s son on the show either.
He kickstarted his own career at the age of 11. Desi joined a rock n roll group along with Dean Martin’s son, Dean Paul Martin, and Bill Hinsche. He played the drums in the group and went on to open for acts like The Beach Boys. Desi also has several acting credits to his name. He played roles in The Brady Bunch and Here’s Lucy.
