Ice T’s Daughter Steals The Spotlight On ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Set
Ice T’s daughter, Chanel, has stolen the spotlight from her famous dad. His wife, Coco Austin, snapped a photo of their eight-year-old on the set of Law & Order: SVU. She took the place of someone extremely important to the show. Keep reading to see the cuteness overload!
Coco Austin Shares Law& Order: SVU Behind The Scenes
Coco took to Instagram on Friday, August 2 to share a clip of Chanel’s visit to the set of SVU. In the video, Ice T’s daughter sat behind the camera in a director’s chair. She was also sitting at the desk of one of the show’s main stars, Mariska Hargitay.
“Oh no @babychanelnicole is taking over @nbclawandorder!!” Coco wrote in the caption. “Watch out directors, camera men and even Olivia Benson’s spot! Don’t sleep on this chick! She does it all!”
Ice T’s wife narrated the video and warned her husband to stay on his toes if he wanted to keep his job. “Behind the scenes, Law & Order, someone’s trying to take daddy’s job,” she said in the clip.
Part of the video showed the infamous nameplate on the desk of “Capt. Olivia Benson.” It was replaced with a handwritten nameplate that read “Capt. CHANEL.”
Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay was eager to join in on the fun. In the comments, she wrote, “Thank God, somebody’s holding down the fort!!!”
Ice T Talks About Being A Dad Later In Life
The long-running drama series is currently in its 25th season. Law & Order: SVU made its debut on television in 1999. It was the first spinoff in the Law & Order franchise. Ice T, 66, became a member of the cast in season 2 and has been around ever since.
In 2002, Ice T married Coco Austin. They welcomed their daughter, Chanel, in 2015. The SVU star describes himself as a protective father.

“I already showed her the little plots I made in our backyard for her boyfriends who make her cry,” he told Us Weekly. “She’s like, ‘No, no. Nah, daddy, you can’t do that.’ I said, ‘What about the girl that likes the same boy you like?’ [Chanel said], ‘Oh, she can get it.’ That’s my daughter.”
He also has two more adult children from a previous relationship. Ice T has opened up about how different it was to raise his first two kids, LaTesha Marrow, 48, and Tracy Marrow, 32.
“I think the difference with Chanel and my other kids is I’m very conscious of this baby,” he said on a podcast in 2023. “I had my [first] daughter when I was in high school. I was ripping and running, so it was present over presence.”
He continued, “I wasn’t there. My son … happened right when I was becoming Ice-T. You know, I’d never been famous before, this was a whole new thing, so I’m distracted by that [at the time]. Chanel, I’m comfortable. I’m in a cruise pattern.”
Season 26 of Law & Order: SVU premieres on Thursday, October 3 at 9 p.m. EST.
