Crazed Man Threatens To Shoot Travis Kelce & Patrick Mahomes
A man has now been charged with “making a terroristic threat” after he allegedly threatened to shoot Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes on Friday night. The incident occurred at a Morgan Wallen concert at Arrowhead Stadium. Keep reading to see how things played out.
Travis Kelce & Patrick Mahomes Threatened In Tweet At Concert
Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes walked Morgan Wallen on stage on Friday night. Following their appearance on stage, one of the audience members thought it would be funny to tweet out a death threat aimed at the two NFL players.
A statement from the prosecutors says that the threats were targeted toward “two members of the Cheifs organization.” However, Travis and Patrick were the two people mentioned in the since-deleted social media post.
Police overseeing security for the Morgan Wallen concert saw the tweet and immediately began searching for the individual in the crowd. Aaron Brown from Winchester, Illinois, was identified by the authorities. He was attending the show with his girlfriend.
“Officers were monitoring threats at a planned concert when they observed on X a threat against two individuals, who were members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization, were present at the event,” a statement from Jean Peters Baker, Jackson County Prosecutor, read.
It continued, “The defendant confirmed to police where he was located at Arrowhead. The concert was delayed for 40 minutes while the defendant was located. The defendant was charged earlier today and a $15,000 bond was set. Prosecutors requested a $250,000 cash bond.”
Apparently, his girlfriend told Aaron Brown not to post the message on X, but he insisted that no one would see it. After being arrested, he told officers that “it was a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake.”
Kansas City Chiefs Controversy Highlighted At Morgan Wallen Concert
As Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes took the stage with Morgan Wallen, many people noted that the country music star was wearing a Chiefs jersey. He sported the number 7 jersey with his own name on the back.
Number 7 actually belongs to Harrison Butker, who has been at the center of controversy in recent months. The NFL player gave a speech at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. During the speech, he stated that women were meant to be homemakers.
“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you. Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world,” he told the crowd of graduates.
He went on to say that he was only able to pursue his dreams because he had “a wife who leans into her vocation” as a mother.
Travis Kelce was attending the concert with Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany. His jet-setting girlfriend, Taylor Swift, is still on tour in Europe.
