Scheana Shay Talks ‘Dismissive’ Chat With Candace Cameron Bure

Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay is discussing a very “dismissive” chat she had with former child star, Candace Cameron Bure. Scheana was excited to get to meet Bure but, unfortunately, it did not turn out the way that she had hoped. So, what went wrong? Keep reading for more details.

Lisa Vanderpump has often talked about the celebrities who have come into SUR such as Miley Cyrus, Chrissy Teigen, Lady Gaga, and many more. This has to be one of the many perks and bonuses of being an employee there. Though Scheana Shay has not donned a SUR uniform since Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules, she is an OG cast member. More so, she is still very much a part of the show and loves to talk about all the happenings. Now, she is sharing an experience with Full House alum Candace Cameron Bure.

She has made news for mistakingly criticizing an incident at the Olympics. Bure thought they were making a mockery of the Last Supper and as someone who is heavily religious, she spoke out. However, it was not meant to be that but rather the Greek god of wine, Dionysus. People have been lambasting Bure on social media for what she said and for some time but now Scheana is having her say. This has nothing to do with the Olympics but a run-in that occurred around Season 2 of Vanderpump Rules. According to Us Weekly, Scheana detailed the incident on her podcast, Scheananigans.

Scheana Shay admits she was a Full House fan so meeting Candace Cameron Bure was a huge deal. Then, her dreams were dashed when Bure was quite unkind:

“But I do remember the first time I met Candace Cameron, she wasn’t very nice. She was hosting this event with [Lisa Vanderpump‘s daughter] Pandora. It was, maybe, season 2 — it was really early Vanderpump Rules days [in 2013].”

It seems that the former Hallmark star acted as if Scheana was not important enough to engage with:

“I was really excited to meet her. She was so dismissive as if I wasn’t cool enough or big enough to be hanging out with her.”

Were Fans Surprised?

After sharing this information about Candace Cameron Bure, were Scheana Shay’s followers shocked, or is that exactly what they expected? They seemed to expect nothing less from Bure:

• SO WEIRD YOU SAY THIS because I met her and she was so cold i actually felt bad afterwards. Like I had to go to the bathroom and shake off her strange energy. It was bizarre.
• i’ve heard so many people have the same experience with her…it’s so disappointing because full house is one of my absolute favourite shows and to hear the way she talks to people and dismisses them is really sad
• She literally believes she is holier than thou

It also made fans sad because they had watched her grow up as DJ Tanner so this was a bummer. However, Scheana did note how it made her not even want to watch more of Bure’s work after the encounter:

“I remember I was so excited to meet her and she was like, ‘Ugh.’ I didn’t want to watch Fuller House because of that one experience. And I’ve met so many celebrities in my life and hardly any have stood out to me as rude — but she stood out as one.”
