‘Big Brother’ Fans Furious Over Abrupt Schedule Change
Big Brother fans are furious after CBS made a huge schedule change. The popular reality show has returned to television for its 26th season. Typically, it airs three times per week. However, there has been a schedule shakeup that sent fans reeling.
Big Brother Scheduling Change Has Fans Shook
It is known that Big Brother usually airs on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. When Season 26 started, CBS was airing episodes on these three days at 9 p.m. That schedule changed last week.
Starting last week, Thursday’s episodes aired a full hour earlier at 8 p.m. The shakeup caused many people to miss the new episode. Then, on July 31, Wednesday episodes were moved to the new time (8 p.m.) as well.
Episodes that air on Sundays will continue to come on at 9 p.m. Fans didn’t hold back their thoughts when it came to the new schedule.
Several viewers took to social media to complain about the abrupt change. “Can we get a consistent schedule? I thought [Thursday’s] episode would be on at 9 like the others and I missed it,” one fan wrote on X. A second wrote, “CBS playing around with the BB schedule every year.”
What Happens On Big Brother During Each Episode?
Unlike many other reality TV shows, Big Brother airs three times a week. This is because there is usually a lot going on in the house at once. There’s typically juicy drama viewers will want to see. Not to mention, there are multiple competitions the players are involved in each week.
During the Sunday episodes, the houseguests compete to be the Head of Household (HOH). The person who wins HOH has immunity from being eliminated and power for the week.
Then, on Wednesday, the Head of Household gets to choose two players to put up for eviction. They also get to pick a few other contestants to compete in the Power of Veto competition. The winner of the Power of Veto can revoke one player who is up for eviction or they can choose to keep things as they are.
Thursday’s episodes are where the houseguests get to vote for the player who will leave the Big Brother house that week.
As you can see, missing an episode due to an abrupt schedule change could lead you to miss a lot. There’s no wonder why fans were so upset when things switched up over the last two weeks.
Big Brother first aired in July 2000 and has returned to television each summer since then. Now in its 26th season, it has become one of the most popular reality TV shows in history. In 2018, a celebrity spinoff of the show started and was equally as successful.
Julie Chen Moonves has hosted the show since its inception and the game has largely remained unchanged over the years. The contestants in the house are isolated from the outside world for a few months. During that time, they are required to participate in competitions.
Every week, the remaining contestants are paid $1,000. The last man or woman standing gets the grand prize of $750,000.

This happens every year. It usually changes several times during the season, in fact. IDK why anyone would be surprised or angry. It’s not even “expect the unexpected”, but, rather “expect the expected”.
