‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg Slams Ana Navarro For Taking Undue Credit
Undeniably, The View is in the middle of a heightened political time right now as they discuss topics related to the presidential candidates. The ladies at the table this season, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro are always finding new things to talk about, especially during this history-making year. But they don’t always see eye to eye. During a recent episode, Whoopi confronts Ana for using material without giving proper credit.
The View Is Charging Ahead
Recently, Whoopi Goldberg discussed the fact that the vote for president is less than one hundred days away. On July 29, Whoopi, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin were at the table. Whoopi compels voters to get out there and prepare for the presidential race. She accidentally tells them not to get “complicit” but is quickly corrected by the table as “complacent.” She jokes it might not just be President Biden struggling. After showing clips from former President Trump’s campaign and another from Vice President Harris’ campaign, the ladies discuss key points. During the conversation, Ana couldn’t help but get excited to talk about, “My girl Kamala,” referring to Vice President Harris.
Ana Is Fired Up But Whoopi Goldberg Slams Her For Stealing Credit
Former Republican consultant, Ana Navarro, states, “Don’t complain that we’re calling you weird because you’ve attacked her on her dating history.” She sassily speaks on Vice President Kamala Harris’ behalf. Continuing, she says, “You have called her a DEI hire. You’ve said everything she’s got is because of her gender and her skin color. You’ve called her all sorts of names.” Then, she adds, “So, I think we’re being really kind and gracious by just calling you weird, and frankly, JD Vance, ‘Just Dumb Vance,’ is pretty weird.” Referencing, VP Harris’ speech from the clip saying some of what former President Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance “are saying is just plain ‘weird.'”
But Whoopi Goldberg is quick to interject. In the middle of Ana’s rant, Whoopi pointedly asks, “Where did you get that from?” Defensively, Ana replies, “No. No. I tweeted it out two days ago.” Then, Whoopi slams her for not giving credit, “But where did you hear it the first time?” Annoyed by the interruption, Ana asserts, “Well I heard it from you today.” Whoopi corrects, “Well you heard it from me last week.” Sara Haines agrees, “I heard it.” However, Ana sticks to her guns, “Oh, yeah, I didn’t.” But Whoopi was irritated she wouldn’t give her credit for the joke.
The View Fans Enjoy Whoopi Goldberg Calling Ana Out
On Reddit, The View fans rally together to discuss an incident between Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro that occurred on air. First, a user says, “Whoopi calling anna out.” Then, they elaborate, “I did enjoy calling Anna out today for using her JD Vance joke – Just dumb Vance! Whoopi asked her where she got it and then Anna said I posted it to twitter. I’ve been critical of Whoopi, but it was good to call Anna out. Anna is not original or authentic at all. Also i’m a democrat, but how does Anna consider herself a republican? not that I don’t want her to vote for Harris, but it just seems like she’s a democrat.” Afterward, the user adds a video clip of the interaction between them.

- “I’m not a fan of Ana’s, but when I saw that it seemed like such a dumb, obvious joke that it never even crossed my mind that her story about them coming up with it independently of each other was false. I believed Whoopi when she said she thought Anna had glommed it from her, and I believed Anna when she said she didn’t. I can’t cross the bridge to a world in which Anna lies in order to take credit for inventing ‘Just Dumb.’ I would have forgotten about this moment if it wasn’t brought back up. Now that you bring it up, the idea of each of them going to their publicists after the show saying, ‘I thought up Just Dumb first’ is kind of hilarious.”
