Taylor Swift is doing her part in motivating Team USA for the Olympics. The Love Story singer has been wildly busy performing on her Eras Tour, but many people expected to see her during the opening ceremony for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Unfortunately, she didn’t make an appearance, but she did collab with NBC for the event in another way.

Taylor Swift Collabed With NBC For Olympic Promos

The 34-year-old superstar is playing sold-out show after sold-out show around the world. Right now, she’s in Munich. However, many fans were hoping to see Taylor Swift cheering athletes on at the Olympics.

Due to her hectic schedule right now, she wasn’t able to make it, but she did participate in a “hype video” with NBC. “So ready to scream at my tv cheering for these athletes,” the pop star wrote on her Instagram Story.

The clip shows several big-name athletes, including LeBron James, Simone Biles, Noah Lyles, and Sha’Carri Richardson. “Ready For It” played in the background. The song was taped during one of Taylor’s concerts in Paris.

At the close of the video, Simone Biles asks, “Are you guys ready for it?”

Fans were eager to comment on the video. “Taylor swift…… baby let the games begin,” one person wrote. Another chimed in, “MISS AMERICANA SUPPORTING TEAM USA THATS POETRY.” A third commented, “Going to cheer like we just won gold!!!”

Will Taylor Perform

While there hasn’t been anything shared for certain, Taylor’s collab video with NBC only increased rumors that she’d be making an appearance at the Olympics. After all, she has a few days off from her Eras Tour. She will be taking a break from August 11 until the day of the closing ceremony.

This wouldn’t be the first time Taylor Swift showed her support for Olympic athletes. In 2021, she paid tribute to Simone Biles who famously backed out of the Games to focus on her mental health.

In response to her tribute on social media, Simone wrote, “I’m crying, how special. I love you @taylorswift13.” To which Taylor replied, “I cried watching YOU. I feel so lucky to have gotten to watch you all these years, but this week was a lesson in emotional intelligence and resilience. We all learned from you. Thank you.”

NBC invited Taylor Swift to perform at the Olympics in Beijing in 2008. At the time, she was on yet another sold-out tour, her Fearless Tour. Even though she wasn’t able to make it, her songs were still featured in promos for the event.

“I wrote the song ‘Change’ as an underdog story,” she said at the time. “It’s kind of crazy to think that the Olympics chose this as one of the songs to play during the Olympic Games.”
