Did Whitney Way Thore Get An Ultimatum, Stop Or Lose Show?
My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans felt disgusted with Whitney Way Thore in Season 11. However, she seems less manic and a bit nicer in Season 12. So, TLC fans wonder if production told her to change her ways. Actually, there seems to be more of the old TV star who fans remember from the early seasons of the show.
Whitney Way Thore Was Badly Behaved
MBFFL fans felt that the TLC star went over the top in the last season of the show. Remember, she treated her dad, Glenn Thore as if he’d lost his mind. Plus, she seemed jealous of her niece. While she claimed to feel excited about meeting Angie, her long-lost sister, her behavior said something very different.
Earlier this year, Whitney Way Thore and her family visited Morocco and Spain. For the first time in a long time, TLC fans saw that the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star seemed to be more subdued. And, they liked what they saw. Did she carry that over into Season 12? And if so, why?
My Big Fat Fabulous Life Star Is Better Behaved?
After the latest episode of MBFFL, TLC fans took to Reddit to discuss why Hunter’s sister seemed reasonably likable. It came after the grossest part of the episode showed her getting schooled by her half-sister Angie on shaving her armpits. Apart from that, she seemed happy for her brother during his premiere and she gave him a nice gift.
Whitney Way Thore puzzled the OP who said:
Am I crazy or is she more normal (ish) this season? I have watched every single episode from when it started. I swore after last season I would never watch it again because she was flaming manic and COMPLETELY unbearable – even to watch! But this season she has turned that way way way down. For example she gave Hunter a truly lovely gift and she was genuinely happy for him. And she isn’t nearly as obnoxious about everything now.
The My Big Fat Fabulous critic also wrote, “There are still many things that she is ridiculous about but I want to acknowledge that she seems a little better than last season (albeit that is not a high bar! 😂).”
TLC Fans Think Production Got Her To It Dial Back
One MBFFL commenter said that they thought production might have gotten Whitney Way Thore to ease back on being obnoxious. They wrote:
I think the producers told her to tone it down. She’s more tolerable but still obnoxious.

- She was so over the top bossy and obnoxious last season- extremely unlikeable. She was probably told to tone it down but she still lacks a life or storyline.
- Last season was insane! She was infuriating!
- That’s what I thought too – I mean surely this show could not stay on the air like that! Who would watch it?!
- Yeah, they toned her wayyyyy down and they’re trying to get other people’s story lines involved because she basically doesn’t have anything interesting going on.
