Meri Brown Shocked ‘Sister Wives’ Is Still Going On
Sister Wives star Meri Brown has been with the series since its 2010 premiere. However, she’s wildly surprised the show is still running.
This fall, Sister Wives Season 19 will premiere and will likely explore a wide range of topics. From Janelle and Meri’s departure from the family to Garrison Brown’s tragic death, there are many stories to cover.
But Meri doesn’t think the show is sustainable and feels surprised TLC wants to keep it running. What did she have to say about it all?
Meri Brown Can’t Believe Sister Wives Is Getting A 19th Season
Many reality shows crash and burn after just a few seasons. That’s why it’s remarkable Sister Wives is getting a 19th season this fall. Meri Brown didn’t see this coming when the series began. She knows it won’t go on forever and has been wondering about the show’s eventual end.
“You know, it’s hard to say like, ‘Is it getting bigger? Is it on the downhill?’ I mean, we’ve been going for so long, and it’s not something that’s going to go forever. You know? It’s just not,” Meri said during her recent appearance on the Sarah Fraser Show.
Of course, Meri recognized the fact Sister Wives draws in a lot of viewers because of the ongoing drama. Each and every year, it seems like there’s some inciting incident that drums up ire and chaos all season long. But even so, Meri doesn’t think it’s sustainable.
“No show ever goes [on] forever. Right? But you can’t predict it either. You know? I don’t think that we ever would’ve thought that we would’ve gone this long. You know what I mean? And we have,” the TLC star continued.
The TLC Star Admits There Are Positives About The Show
Sister Wives may be over the hill, but Meri agrees that there are still positive reasons for fans to watch the show. She enjoys seeing viewers pick a favorite and form their own community.
“… I think people very much created like their favorites. You know?” she shared in the interview. “Like, I’m a favorite. Everybody’s team Meri, or everybody’s team Janelle or Christine.”

“People create their favorites. They just connect. It’s very normal,” Meri added. “They’re going to connect with different people, right? And so now, they’re watching as we’re going our different ways and doing our thing because they want to know what is happening in our lives.”
Do you agree with Meri Brown here? Do you think TLC should have ended Sister Wives years ago? Why do you keep tuning in? Leave your own thoughts and opinions in the comments.
