Before Richard Simmons passed away, things in his life were going quite well. He shared that an interactive Broadway show was being made about his life. Richard was thrilled with this idea as he loved Broadway and it made up for the biopic that had been made with Pauly Shore starring as him. He was very verbal that he did not approve of this film being made which hurt Pauly. More so, he shared that he had other opportunities to share his story that made him far happier.
Unfortunately, the reclusive fitness guru would never get to see his hopes and dreams come to fruition as he passed away on July 13th. Per TMZ, Richard had fallen in his bathroom the night prior. However, he refused to get medical attention despite his housekeeper encouraging him to do so. She then found him the next morning and immediately sought help. He was pronounced dead with no foul play believed to have occurred. According to People, Richard was laid to rest on Friday, July 19th. His brother, Lenny shared this via statement:
“Our beloved Dicky was laid to rest this morning surrounded by only family and closest friends. We pray for your continued love and support during this very difficult time.”
Now, a day later, Richard Simmons’ final photo has been released by his team in a tribute to the icon who is gone too soon. He apparently wanted this one to be posted on July 14th but that never happened:
Here is the post Richard had planned for you for Sunday July 14, 2024. 3/3
“Let me fly you to the moon so we can gaze among the stars.
Love,
Richard” pic.twitter.com/aatT3LkrsT— Richard Simmons (@TheWeightSaint) July 20, 2024
He is donning a spacesuit with his curly locks completely gray. Though older, he does appear healthy and was optimistic before his birthday:
“I feel good! I am grateful that I’m here, that I am alive for another day. I’ll spend my birthday doing what I do every day, which is to help people.”
One Last Time

He gave so much love to the world. I grew up with him through the television set. I am the same age as he was when he passed. May he rest in peace he surely will have a place in heaven. So long Richard we love you.
He/she will only have a place in Heaven if he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and repented his sins and asked for forgiveness.
Yes..I hope he did except Christ..Only way to Heaven..🙏🏻
Jesus Christ is The Way The Truth and The Light
Amen!
