‘Jeopardy!’ Jay Fischer Opens Up About Ending Isaac Hirsch’s Streak
Jeopardy! contestant Jay Fischer surprised everyone when he dethroned former champ Isaac Hirsch, ending his streak at nine wins. Recently, Fischer broke his silence on ending that streak. So, what did he have to say about it?
Jeopardy!: Jay Fischer Snapped Winning Streak
One of the many reasons why viewers tune in to watch Jeopardy! episodes is to see long winning streaks come to life. Watchers saw this recently, when Isaac Hirsch put together an impressive run, which ended at nine consecutive wins.
Of course, another aspect to this that watchers also tune in for is to see a winning streak end. With the kind of momentum that Isaac Hirsch seemed to have, almost no one expected his streak to end at nine games. That was thanks to a new competitor named Jay Fischer.
Jeopardy! Isaac Hirsch Had A Memorable Run On The Show
Even though Isaac Hirsch had his Jeopardy! run cut short at nine games by Jay Fischer, many viewers continue to applaud him for the impressive streak he put together. With the wide knowledge base that the game show pulls from, it’s hard enough to win one game, let alone put together a pattern of winning that almost ends up in the double digits.
Not only did Isaac Hirsch get the adoration of a lot of Jeopardy! fans, but, he also went home with a sizable purse, too. By the time his run came to an end, being beaten by Jay Fischer, Isaac Hirsch’s money total came out to $215,390.
Jay Fischer Breaks Silence On Dethroning The Champ
With as much interest as Jeopardy! fans have over Isaac Hirsch and his impressive run, many viewers also want to know more about the man who took his crown, Jay Fischer. According to Fischer, he was “in shock” when he won, beating the champ.
Jay Fischer went on to add that Hirsch is a “great competitor.” It doesn’t seem like there is anything other than good sportsmanship coming from Jay, who went on to add that he would be “cheering” Hirsch on when he comes back for Tournament of Champions.
Jay Fischer may not have put together the kind of streak that Hirsch did, but, he had a respectable run in his own right. Jay finished with a little winning streak of his own before someone eventually beat him.
Even so, Fischer said that his Jeopardy! experience was a memorable one, as the contestants and staff were “all very nice and fun to be around.”
Speaking more about his time on the show, Jay Fischer added: “It was a dream come true to just be on the show, let alone win three games. It was such a great experience.”
