Billy Ray Cyrus Reportedly Violent During ‘DWTS’ Season 4
It seems that Billy Ray Cyrus wasn’t always kind and friendly during his run on Dancing With The Stars Season 4.
Amid recent abuse allegations from his ex, Firerose, old memories of Cyrus’ violent behavior are bubbling to the surface. Now, one former Dancing With The Stars cast member is sharing her own experience with the country star. And it wasn’t at all pleasant.
In fact, Cyrus reportedly engaged in violent, abusive behavior during a confrontation on the set of DWTS. What exactly happened?
A Former Pro Alleges Billy Ray Cyrus Kicked The Stage Manager
Dancing With The Stars Season 4 aired in the spring of 2007 on ABC. It’s been quite some, but the memories of Billy Ray Cyrus’ horrible behavior are still fresh in one former pro dancer’s mind.
In an episode of Cheryl Burke’s podcast, Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans, she invited Jill Escoto onto the show. The women ended up discussing Cyrus’ divorce proceedings, prompting Cheryl to share her own experience with him.
“We were all nervous. It was right before, light right when it was going to end, our dress rehearsal, our stage manager tells Billy Ray, can you get on your mark? So that, you know, the director can light you,” Cheryl recalled during staging.
“And he’s been asking like three, four times at that time, Billy Ray kicked our stage manager,” she continued. “Out of nowhere, straight up donkey kicked him. It turned into a hot mess. It was like, and his time was up after that.”
Cyrus and Karina Smirnoff finished in fifth place out of 11 couples. Olympian Apolo Ohno and Julianne Hough took home the Mirrorball Trophy that season.
Firerose Also Accused The Singer Of Violent Behavior
Cheryl Burke’s story is certainly shocking, but many members of the public aren’t surprised given current events.
Billy Ray Cyrus and his most recent wife of seven months, Firerose, are currently divorcing. PEOPLE reports the former Hannah Montana star filed for divorce the day before Firerose was scheduled to have a double mastectomy. Now, she’s accusing him of abusive behavior during their marriage.
“Wife was the victim of extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse,” Firerose’s lawyers wrote, as reported by PEOPLE. “Wife was subjected to Husband’s persistent drug use accompanied with the consumption of marijuana which made Husband unpredictable and volatile towards Wife.”
The report also asserted that Cyrus engaged his verbal abuse toward his wife as well.
