‘RHOC’ Shannon Beador Facelift Lawsuit Gets Ugly
Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador is firing back at her ex-boyfriend John Janssen. The latest updates regarding John’s lawsuit against Shannon for fraud seem to be going up in smoke. Keep reading to see what has unfolded.
Shannon Beador Pushes Back In Facelift Lawsuit
John Janssen filed a lawsuit against Shannon Beador, accusing the RHOC star of owing him thousands of dollars that he loaned her for a facelift. However, recent court documents show that Shannon claims that John has failed to provide any evidence to back up his fraud accusations.
Additionally, the Bravo star said that John’s request for punitive damages should be thrown out if the judge agrees to hear the fraud case. Shannon’s lawyer wrote, “[John] has not alleged sufficient facts to state a fraud cause of action, and therefore has not alleged sufficient frauds for punitive damages.”
On top of that, the lawyer added, “Allegations of fraud do not include facts that support a claim that [Shannon] did not intend to perform at the time she entered into the alleged contract for the loan.”
Shannon Beador ultimately asked the court to dismiss the claim being made by John, but she has not responded to the rest of his lawsuit. A source close to the matter told In Touch, “John’s attorneys are very confident with the evidence supporting their filings.”
The Real Housewives Star Attempted To Settle Out Of Court
John Janssen has claimed that he loaned Shannon Beador $75,000 for plastic surgery. The pair dated on and off for three and a half years before finally calling it quits in January 2023. John is currently dating Shannon’s Real Housewives costar Alexis Bellino.
In his lawsuit, John accused the Real Housewives star of breach of contract. Allegedly, Shannon told John that she would repay him the money. Although he has asked her for the money on several different occasions, he has said she has failed to pay him back. When the lawsuit was initially filed, Shannon said that she was “shocked.”
The RHOC star said that she believed the money was a “gift” from her ex-boyfriend. She also claimed that she tried to settle the issue out of court before the suit was filed.
“My attorney has been in constant communication with his counsel. I agreed to pay John what he wanted because I knew that attorney’s fees would surpass the amount sought, but more importantly to eliminate the negative emotional components that come with a lawsuit. It is important that I continue to focus on the positive aspects of my life and move forward,” Shannon said.
She added, “John declined the offer because he refused to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement. I was hoping that if I met his baseless demand we could at least use this as an opportunity to bring complete closure to this chapter in my life.”
