Production Has Started On ‘NCIS’ Season 22: Is Everyone Back?
Production has started on NCIS Season 22. The Mothership as the network calls the CBS military procedural series ended Season 21 with a cliffhanger. Now, the cast is back for an intense nine months of filming. Who is back for more?
NCIS Season 22 Starts Production
On Thursday, TV Insider reported that NCIS Season 22 has begun production. The long-running hit CBS series is back for a full season. Most of all, they are back for more stories. One story that has been left unfinished is about Agent Jessica Knight, portrayed by Katina Law.
At the end of Season 21, Jimmy (Brian Dietzen) goes through the motions of breaking up with Jessica before she breaks up with him. Did he mean what he said? Or was he just protecting his heart? Are they able to handle a long-distance relationship?
After that, Knight told Vance (Rocky Carroll) that she was taking the job. This will be what she has worked for, but it will take her away from a team that she has bonded with.

Does Katrina Law want to leave NCIS? She told the publication that she “hopes” she won’t be leaving. However, she did share what the writers told her. “The writers said that they were going to bring me back, but they lie sometimes, so we’ll see what happens.”
Do the writers lie? That must certainly cause an actor to have some head games. Katrina realizes this, as she knows that Knight is “at a crossroads.” This could mean that she hesitates before getting on the plane. Or she could arrive at the new spot, and turn around and return back to her team.
Maybe she…realizes that she truly loves her NCIS team or maybe that she doesn’t want to be back in a relationship with Jimmy full-time. Maybe something happens with the NCIS team that calls her back. I think there’s a whole plethora of reasons that could make her either come back or stay.
She has certainly run through several scenarios in her head. Could one of these happen in Season 22? That is hard to say.
When Does NCIS Season 22 Premiere?
The premiere of NCIS Season 22 is on Monday, October 14, at 8 p.m., Eastern. However, after the premiere episode, the regular CBS timeslot is at 9 p.m., Eastern. The change is due to the two-hour NCIS: Origins premiere.
