Gypsy Rose Blanchard Pregnant With First Baby, Who’s The Daddy?
Gypsy Rose Blanchard is expecting her first child. The news comes nearly seven months after her release from prison and only two months since she announced her split from Ryan Anderson. So, who is the father of Gypsy’s baby and when is she due? Here is everything we know so far.
Gypsy Rose Is Expecting Her First Child In January 2025
The ex-con is expecting her first baby with her fiance, Ken Urker. She addressed pregnancy rumors in a YouTube video on Tuesday.
“I know the rumors have been flying around for quite some time now, and I’m happy to announce that I am 11 weeks pregnant,” she said. “Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January 2025.”
Although Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker did not plan the pregnancy, Gypsy shared that they “are both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood.”
Several months after her release, Gypsy talked about the possibility of starting her own family. “Absolutely I want kids someday. I think that I’m going to be a good mother,” she said in May. “I think [my boyfriend] Ken would be a wonderful father, and so we’ll see what the future holds for us.”
Her announcement comes just seven months after her release from prison. Gypsy was in prison for seven years after she pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
Although Gypsy Rose admitted to wanting to have children someday, she said that she wanted to work on herself before moving forward with any plans. The Life After Lockup star said that she wanted to go to therapy and work through the alleged abuse she experienced as a child.
The Ex-Con Is Continuing To Work On Herself
Her story has been documented in a number of series and specials. Dee Dee Blanchard allegedly put her daughter through a series of unnecessary medical treatments, including surgeries and a feeding tube. Gypsy’s mom worked hard to convince everyone around her that she was sick, even though she was not.
“I’m going through the healing process of processing those emotions that I feel towards myself and towards her,” she said. “I have been diagnosed with PTSD and I am on medication for it. So then when the nightmares come, it puts me in a bad state of mind and it takes me a day to come out of that negative mindset and it takes work.” She also shared that she is working to forgive herself for her role in her mother’s murder.
Gypsy is also going to need to work on a solid foundation for her new family. Since her release from prison, her love life has been a bit hectic. She married Ryan Scott Anderson in 2022 while she was still behind bars. Unfortunately, their relationship quickly came to an end once she was free. In April, she filed for divorce and got back together with her former fiance, Ken Urker. She has insisted that Ken did not play any role in her decision to leave Ryan.
“It was, I think, an insecurity that was there for a very long time,” she told Us Weekly. “I called Ken two weeks before I got married. Ken has consistently been brought up in a way that I can never let go of my feelings, but I put them on the back burner to do what was best for my marriage. And so, having that be a point of contention has been a thread throughout, but I didn’t leave Ryan for Ken. That was just sort of a realization [of], ‘Hey, we still love each other after the fact.’”
