‘Real World’ Sarah Becker Dies At 52
In some tragic news, former Real World star Sarach Becker has died. The reality TV star who appeared in Season 5 of the MTV series reportedly died last week. A family member confirmed the death and revealed the official cause of death. Sarah was 52.

Sarah Becker Dead At 52
A relative said that Sarah Becker died early last week at her home in Illinois. According to the report, the cause of death was suicide. It appears she had moved to Illinois to take care of her family, but she had plans to move back to California.
The relative also said that Sarah had struggled with mental health issues in recent months as she cared for her sick mother and sister. She also had a skateboarding accident that caused her more struggles (via TMZ).
There is no other news about her death or funeral plans.
Who Is Sarah Becker From Real World?
Sarah Becker appeared in The Real World: Miami in Season 5 of the show. This was 1996 and Sarah was 25 years old at the time. She was housemates with Dan Renzi, Melissa Padrón, Joe Patane, Cynthia Roberts, Flora Alekseyeun, and Mike Lambert.

Alekseyeun responded to the death on Instagram. “I am beyond myself and sad to just hear that my roomate Sarah died. I can’t believe this,” she wrote. “She was the most selfless person I knew. She was always kind and helpful to everyone. I haven’t spoken to her in years and never knew she was troubled.”
This season of the show was the first time the cast was asked to complete an assignment, which in this case was creating a startup business with the help of $50,000. They were unable to complete the task. During her time on the show, Sarah got a puppy named Leroy and had a feud with Melissa Padrón, which caused Padrón to move out of the house.
Who All Has Died From The Real World?
Sarah joins a sad list of cast members from The Real World who have died since their time on the show. She is the eighth cast member who is no longer with us.
Frankie Abernathy from The Real World: San Diego died in 2007 after a battle with cystic fibrosis. Joey Kovar from The Real World: Hollywood died in 2012 following a drug overdose. Pedro Zamora from The Real World: San Francisco died in 1994 following health complications due to AIDS.
Ryan Knight from The Real World: New Orleans died in 2014 when he choked to death while at a party. Danny Dias from The Challenge died in 2017 due to “complications of chronic substance abuse.” Diem Brown from The Challenge died in 2014 after battling ovarian cancer.
