‘Dateline NBC’ Scheduling Switch-Up: When Will Next Episode Air?
Dateline NBC will not be airing at its regular Friday night timeslot for the next few weeks. The network is going to be completely focused on the U.S. Olympic trials. So, the hit crime series will be put on hold until they are over. When will Dateline return to television? Keep reading to find out.
NBC Will Be Airing The U.S. Olympics Trials For 9 Days
As mentioned above, NBC will be focusing all of its programming on the U.S. Olympic trials. Once the competitions leading up to the Olympics are completed, Dateline NBC will return to its normal schedule.
The U.S. Olympic Track & Field trials start on June 21 and end on June 30. All of the events will be broadcast live on NBC. During the trials, athletes are competing to land a spot on the national team. The trials are held to see which athletes will move forward to represent the United States at the track and field events at the Olympic Games.
Trials are a crucial part of the selection process for the Olympics. People from all over the country tune in to see which top athletes will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. On television, the trials will air from morning into the evening. For detailed schedules and information on specific events, you can check out the NBC website.
In addition to airing on NBC and the NBC Sports Network (NBCSN), streaming for the Olympic events will also be available. You can stream on Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, and the NBC Sports app. USA Network will also provide replays of the events after they happen live.
When Will Dateline NBC Return To Television?
All of that being said, Dateline fans are going to have to wait a while for the next episode. NBC is straying away from its regular programming altogether to focus on the Olympic trials. The crime drama series won’t return to television until the first week in July.
If you missed last Friday’s episode, it is available to stream via the NBC app and on Peacock. The episode, called “The Breakup,” told the story of the murder of LaNell Barsock in Palmdale, California.
“When a nurse is gunned down in her home, detectives initially believe they have a clear suspect,” the synopsis for the episode reads. “As they delve deeper into the investigation, new information leads them down a completely different path.”
Dateline correspondent Josh Mankiewicz spoke about the episode, saying that sometimes the most clear suspect to the police is not 100% guilty. As the story unfolds, everyone has the potential to be guilty of the crime.
The next episode of Dateline NBC is slated to air on Friday, July 5, at 10 p.m. EST.
