According to the synopsis, Lori Marshal is a former dance and ice skater. Now she is a television news reporter who has ambitions to move up at the station.
Now, she has the opportunity to move up. However, she dreads this assignment. She needs to return to her hometown of Greenhill, Michigan, and report on the closing of the Ice Palace. The Ice Palace is where she trained as a skater. Despite it being a historic place, she dreads returning there. But, she knows she needs to make it work so she can move forward in her career.
At the Ice Palace, she meets Zoe and her dad Mark Johnson. Zoe is an aspiring skater. Lori soon learns that Mark owns the Ice Palace. The building is in rough shape and is about to be condemned. As Lori works on her report, she realizes how vital this place is to the community. Moreover, she understands why Mark’s family history is behind him fighting to keep this place open.
