Camila Banus Returning To Days Of Our Lives As Gabi?
Camila Banus played Gabi Hernandez off and on for 13 years before leaving the soap over a year ago. Her character has deep connections in Salem through her brother Rafe (Galen Gering) and romantic history with most of the town.
The character was sent to prison for killing her lover, Li Shin (Remington Hoffman.) However, Rafe, Stefan (Brandon Barash), and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) have been on a quest to prove Gabi’s innocence.
Their determination finally paid off when the true killer was unmasked. According to Monsters & Critics, Gil (David S. Lee) was the culprit. With Gil dead, too, will Gabi be exonerated and released from prison?
Probably, but will Camila Banus return to the role? Unlikely. She took to social media this week to make a cryptic post calling out her former Days Of Our Lives co-stars as “snakes.”
“Just know this. I remember all, I will continue to remember how those snakes treated me and how others allowed and perpetuated their behavior,” she wrote on social media, per Soap Opera Network.
She didn’t clarify who or what she was referring to, but fans speculated online that she was talking about Albert Alarr. The producer was fired from the soap in 2023 amid allegations of sexual harassment and creating a toxic work environment.
If the internet rumors are correct, it sounds like Camila Banus has burned all the bridges that would have led her back to Salem.
Huge Hint The Role Has Been Recast
Days of Our Lives has announced several bombshell casting news lately. Some pretty big stars, including Melissa Reeves and Kristian Alfonso, are returning later this year to honor actor Bill Hayes and his iconic character, Doug Williams.
Another long-time vet shocked fans earlier this week by announcing his departure not only from DOOL, but from the soap opera industry altogether.
In April, the soap opera’s official social media introduced fans to two new hires. Cherie Jimenez and Al Calderon are both expected to appear on screen soon, but in what roles?
