Kristian Alfonso Returns To ‘DOOL,’ But What About Peter Reckell?

Kristian Alfonso Returns To DOOL
Days of Our Lives recently revealed the return of several alums for an episode honoring the late Bill Hayes. The actor passed away in early 2024. He played Doug Williams on the daytime soap for over 50 years.
The show confirmed that Melissa Reeves is returning as Jennifer Horton for the tribute slated for late November. Actress Gloria Loring will also return as Liz Chandler after three decades.
But fans noticed one essential name missing from the returnees: Kristian Alfonso. Surely, Doug’s daughter Hope would return for his funeral?
Fans were concerned for several reasons, including Kristian Alfonso abruptly quitting the show in 2020 and saying she would never return. Except she did return in 2022 on Season 2 of Peacock’s Beyond Salem spinoff.
The actress will bring Hope Williams Brady back to Salem for reportedly just one episode airing November 29, 2024. “My return is very bittersweet, because it is the end of an era with Bill gone,” Kristian Alfonso told TV Insider.
She reflected on working with the iconic DOOL star. “Doing the scenes with Bill, I felt like I was with my dad because there was so much warmth and reality.”
While Kristian Alfonso admitted it was “sad” to return to her old stomping grounds, she was happy to see old friends.
“I’m so excited to see her, to work with her, to giggle with her, to eat delicious food with her, to talk about our families,” she said about reuniting with Melissa Reeves, who plays Hope’s cousin Jennifer Rose Horton.
What About Peter Reckell?
Hope is just one-half of Bope, the nickname of soap super couple Hope Williams Brady and Bo Brady. Peter Reckell left the show in 2015 but reprised the role in 2022 and 2023.
However, it doesn’t sound like he will return for the tribute to Bill Hayes and it wasn’t the actor’s choice.
Days of Our Lives recently reached the milestone of 15,000 episodes. Peter Reckell took to Twitter to share his congrats. “Wish I was there celebrating with you,” he wrote.

Kristian Alfonso didn’t mention if her former co-star will return. But she had a message for Bope fans. ““What I will say is don’t give up hope,” she told TV Insider about fans possibly seeing Bo and Hope on screen together again.
