Trista Sutter Talks Being Called Names As First ‘Bachelorette’
Trista Sutter is opening up and talking more about her time as the first Bachelorette. She spoke with Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts about how things were for her during that time. She shared that she was called bad names and was even slut shamed. What did she share? Keep reading to find out more.
Trista Sutter Admits To Being Slut Shamed
The first-ever Bachelorette Trista Sutter stopped by Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour to chat with Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts. She took the two ladies back in time and told them that when her season came out it was very controversial.
Trista said, “I got called every name in the book. People said I was going to look like a slut or that I was going to be a ho because it was one girl and 25 guys.”
She continued to explain how it was for her during that time as The Bachelorette. Trista said, “Because of that, I really held back in terms of physicality with the men. There was one guy named Jamie who asked me if he could have a kiss one night and I said maybe just on the cheek. Everyone kisses on the first night now! It’s crazy. I feel like I was very reserved because I was very aware of the public perception. Also, my family was watching and whatnot.”
Would She Go Back And Change Anything?
Trista Sutter also revealed if she would go back and change anything. In short, she said no. She went on to say that she is where she is in life because of all that happened in the past. So, she wouldn’t change anything.
However, she would believe more in herself and not give in to a guy just because she wanted to date him. At the time she wanted to have fun and go to all the dances. She would get into a relationship because she thought she needed it. However, she now knows it’s okay to be alone. Looking back she would have told herself not to settle.

Trista was lucky and met Ryan in her season. The two were married on television and have been happily in love ever since. The couple recently moved from Vail to Denver and are adjusting to life in the bigger city.
