Undoubtedly, feelings are split about the death of former San Fransico NFL player, O.J. Simpson. While his family is sad to see him lose his battle with prostate cancer, others still harbor bitterness about his alleged murders. Seemingly, the Kardashian-Jenner family is among the latter.

Murder Tarnishes O.J. Simpson’s Career

While the superstar, O.J. Simpson, was a great football player, his accomplishments were tarnished after a long trial alleging the double murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. Undeniably, this made him a controversial figure in the ‘90s. Additionally, the case was a highly visible trial. Although O.J. was accused and then charged, he was ultimately acquitted of murdering Brown and Goldman in 1995.

O.J. Simpson’s Close Connection With The Kardashians

During the high-profile case The Kardashians star, Kris Jenner’s ex-husband, the late Robert Kardashian, Sr. was on O.J.’s defense team. But even before the trial, the Kardashian family had personal connections to the Simpsons. Significantly, The Kardashian kids were close enough to O.J. and Nicole to call them “Auntie” and “Uncle” at one point in the family friendship. Over time, Kris Jenner and her daughters, Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe Kardashian, have discussed how the trial created a division within their family. During the trial, the split was obvious with Kris choosing to sit on Nicole’s side of the courtroom while Robert was serving on the defense. While O.J. was acquitted, the jury still found him liable for the deaths and required him to pay out millions to the victims’ families.

Furthermore, through the years, the Kardashian-Jenner family experienced rumors about O.J. being Khloe Kardashian’s biological father. When O.J. heard about the conspiracy theory he took to X to set the record straight. He said, “But never — and I want to stress, never, in any shape or form — have I ever had any interest in Kris, romantically or sexually, and I never got any indication that she had any interest in me. So all of these stories are bogus, bad, tasteless.” Although Kris calls the allegations “tasteless and disgusting” many still believe they could be true. Conversely, Kim Kardashian took great inspiration from her father during O.J.’s trial. While she admits it wreaked havoc on the family, she also knew she wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps.
