Little People Big World: Roloff Farms Drama Has Been A Goldmine For TLC
Little People Big World fans have been critical for some time regarding the TLC show’s storylines. After 25 seasons on the air, things can get a bit stale, with some saying it has become flat-out boring. Thanks to some real-life family drama over Roloff Farms, TLC has been able to milk that storyline.
The Little People Big World family rift and the resulting bitterness from the failed farm deal is the kind of thing you’d expect for a Yellowstone storyline. However, this unfolded within the Roloff family, and things got bad enough that Zach Roloff moved his family farther away, to Battle Ground, Washington.
LPBW: Fans Critical Over Matt Roloff’s Decision
Instead of selling a portion of Roloff Farms to either Zach Roloff or Jeremy Roloff, Matt decided to rent out the “Big House” on a short-term basis through platforms like Airbnb and Vrbo. From a business perspective, this makes sense. Roloff Farms is a major draw for visitors, and the prospect of staying in the same house where Matt and Amy raised their family has its appeal.
This also means another source of income for Matt Roloff, as every booking means more money in Matt’s pocket in a more passive way.
However, Little People Big World fans have been extremely critical of Matt’s decision, with many saying that he ruined his legacy by not passing the torch to his sons, and so on. Many viewers think Matt made the wrong decision, seemingly choosing business over family.
Little People Big World: Matt Roloff Claps Back At His Critics
Despite Matt’s busy schedule, he often makes time to respond to fan comments and questions. Recently, though, he went in on his critics over his choices with Roloff Farms, and the Roloff family patriarch didn’t hold back with his responses.
Responding to one Little People Big World fan, Matt said: “Zach is happy in Battle Ground. and if I gave it to Zach that’s not fair to the other kids that you don’t see on the TV show.”
Another theory that a lot of Little People Big World fans have is that Matt has taken his youngest son, Jacob Roloff, under his wing to eventually take over things. Another comment from Matt added more fuel to that fire.
Speaking of Jacob Roloff and his youngest son running the farm, Matt Roloff said: “He totally is. Jacob is running the entire farm in a way that far surpasses any of the other kids involvement.”
Matt revealed that he intends to leave Roloff Farms to Amy Roloff should anything happen to him. However, the way a lot of viewers see it, he is definitely playing favorites. Fans have said for some time that Matt has been grooming Jacob to take over at some point, and, based on Matt’s recent comments, it certainly looks that way.
