Is Sugar Bear Thompson Innocent In Alana’s Stolen Money?
Mama June viewers have been dragging the reality TV mom for stealing money from her daughter Alana Thompson. However, no one has asked about Sugar Bear Thompson’s innocence throughout the entire ordeal. What kind of responsibility did Honey Boo Boo’s dad have in the matter? Mama June Confesses To Stealing From Alana
Last Friday’s episode of Mama June: Family Crisis opened the family up to a lot of critics online. In the episode, June Shannon confessed to stealing money from Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s Coogan account.
A Coogan account is put in place to save a portion of a child star’s earnings for them. Once they come of age, they are able to access the money. Mama June says that she tapped into Alana’s Coogan account.
Later in the episode, Alana confronts her mother, asking where the money is. “I’m gonna get the truth out of Mama and I will find out where my money is,” she said in a confessional. “Mama is not getting a slap on the wrist for this one.”
It has not been revealed what June spent the money on, but it is clear that viewers are furious with the WeTV star. June’s actions also came as a surprise to her husband, Justin Stroud.
There is one person that fans have not heard from regarding the stolen cash though. That is Alana’s dad, Sugar Bear Thompson.
What Is Sugar Bear’s Role In The Missing Money?
One fan took to Reddit to ask where Sugar Bear’s accountability in all of this is. “I know everybody is talking about June but what about Sugar Bear?” they asked.
“He made money off Alana’s back too. Did he ever pay child support or have a college fund for her?” the Reddit user questioned. They also asked if he contributed any money to her school expenses or if he was actually a deadbeat in real life. “Why not blast him like she is her mama?”
One fan answered the question, writing, “Sugar Bear did an interview on Elle Bee YouTube. They started a rumor about him was going to use it as a storyline. He refused.”
They continued saying that Alana’s dad didn’t want to be on the show anymore. He is now driving trucks, living in Georgia, and is single. “There is more to the story than the show leads you to believe. They want drama for views & ratings,” the person concluded.
Several people in the comments pointed out that a lot of the storyline behind Sugar Bear was provided by Mama June, who is not a “reliable narrator.” At the same time, it isn’t clear whether or not he ever provided any support for Alana after leaving June.
