Scheana Shay Claims Ariana Being Backup Dancer Was A Joke
Scheana Shay is claiming her comment about Ariana Madix being her backup dancer was a joke and was misinterpreted on the show. It is no secret that Scheana was jealous of Ariana when she got to be on Dancing With The Stars. This led to Scheana making a comment about Ariana that came across as shady. Now that she has seen the backlash of the comment, she is backtracking and trying to clear the air.
Scheana Shay Jealous Of Ariana Madix
Scheana Shay has always wanted to be on Dancing With The Stars. When Ariana Madix got the opportunity, Scheana was upset.
“This year, I started taking dance class I was preparing in case I did get it.”
She then called Ariana her backup dancer.
“Good for her. [Ariana] has come such a long way from being my backup dancer, I am so happy for her. But I can be happy for her and sad for me at the same time.”
She is now trying to backtrack and say this was meant as a joke. However, it did not seem that way.
Now She Says It Was A Joke
Scheana Shay thinks her comment came across the wrong way, and it did.
“I literally meant this as a joke. I did not mean shade. I feel like often at times when I tend to be self-deprecating, it’s not received well. It doesn’t land. I always look for opportunities where the show can do flashbacks and I think that’s one thing that I’ve been really good about in my now 11 seasons on the show is just bringing up moments where you can look back.”
Fans seem to think she is now calling it a joke because fans knew she was jealous. It came across in a negative way and fans are not having her excuses. If she did mean it as a joke, she may need to think about how she says things on camera. Fans are now wondering what Ariana thought of the comment.
It seems as though viewers are still not taking the comment as a joke even though Scheana is trying to say it was. They think she is just jealous of all the opportunities that have come Ariana’s way. However, Ariana will continue to do what she is doing regardless of the hate she has received. Shay wishes she could have gotten the opportunities Madix has got and is portraying it negatively.
