‘The Voice’ Judges Feel ‘Replaceable’ In The Midst Of Turnover
Two of the staff hairstylists on The Voice have opened up about the turnover among the judges in recent seasons. After Blake Shelton left last winter, many fans were wondering what would happen with the show. He had been a judge on the competition show for all of its 23 seasons at that point. However, people from behind the scenes say that the show is better than ever. Continue reading to see what they revealed.
Judge Turnover On The Voice Keeps Things ‘Fresh’
In 2019, long-time judge Adam Levine left The Voice after 16 seasons on the show. When he announced his departure, fans were shocked. But Blake Shelton leaving the competition shook the fanbase. After all, he had been on the show since Season 1.
People behind the scenes think that the recent judge changes keep people coming back to The Voice for more though. Of course, the talent is forever changing, but seeing new faces at the judge’s table is key to growing viewership numbers too.

The U.S. Sun spoke with Jerilynn Stephens and Darbie Wieczorak at the 11th Makeup Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards in Beverly Hills. The two stylists shared their thoughts on the recent casting shakeups on The Voice as well as the future of the show.
Jerilynn addressed Blake and Adam leaving the show and said, “We kept going. Everyone’s always replaceable. I mean, truly, it brings a new fresh feel to the show.” She contributes the “new fresh feel” to how well the show performs.
Viewership & The Future Of The Voice
“Things that contribute to the people coming back to the show… would be the coaches changing,” Jerilynn shared. “I think that the contestants are always new and fresh – new faces.”
She shared that she was unsure of what would happen once Blake Shelton left The Voice. Then Jerilynn added that having Reba McEntire on the show has been wonderful. “I really love her,” she gushed.
The Hollywood stylist hopes that The Voice will be on air for another 10 years. Jerilynn shared that she would like to remain the stylist for the show until she retires. “I hope it goes until I retire,” she said. Like Blake, she has been there since Season 1.

Gwen Stefani has also announced that plans to join her husband and not return to The Voice after this season.
Despite rumors about the couple’s relationship, Gwen and Blake are still happily together. The pair posted a video of themselves together backstage where Blake asks his wife, “Did you hear them when you came out there?” To which Gwen says, “I know.” Continuing to cheer his wife on, he tells her that people love her in Canada.
