Is it time for Mama June Shannon and her family to be shut down? They are all over social media, constantly promoting products and businesses. It has become way too much for followers and they are having their say regarding the reality television family. What exactly is being said? Read on for more details.
Time For Mama June & Family To Be Shut Down?
For Mama June, social media is life. When her daughter, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird was out of necessities for her children, June had a solution. She told her to get on TikTok and make money. It appears that she has taken that to heart because she is constantly hustling on all forums. Not only does she and her youngest sister, Honey Boo Boo, promote whatever they are sent by small businesses. They also have started The Sisters Closet which is supposed to be original products and items. However, fans have called them out for being overpriced dupes and allege that they resell cheap items for a profit.
As for June’s husband, Justin Stroud, he has followed suit and resells cheap items. Now, followers are calling for the family to stop and leave the world of social media as they are doing too much and it is overkill. A recent Reddit thread was started to discuss this. The OP started with this:
- OK, this entire family has gotten way too big for their britches. Their TikTok lives where they sell random crap has gotten absolutely ridiculous and people are supporting them by buying this stuff off of them.
They went on to insult the whole family, talked about how loud they are, and how they they have these horrible attitudes. Finally, they concluded by asking if their fifteen minutes were up. So, did fellow Redditors agree with this?
- The morons buying sh** from them are as trashy as they are. There’s nothing but garbage in that family, addiction, laziness, horrible diets and entitlement. How that family has stayed on TV is utterly mind boggling.

This whole post about Mama June and her family had fans questioning Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson. Some could not help but wonder how legitimate her scholarship from Regis University was. More so, they asked if this was actually money given to her other ways. Her behavior and attitude on her live streams don’t lend themselves to someone warranting a scholarship. Then again, it could just be a persona she is putting on as Honey Boo Boo was full of sass.
In the end, the family shows no signs of stopping their social media careers as The Sisters Closet just launched a makeup line. I love the show. June and her family’s hustle is no different from the Kardashians. The Kardashians always promoting products to hustle folks out of their money. No one is trying to shut down the Kardashians. June and her family are great entertainment. Also, their show is about real life, with nobody bragging about high-end purchases they bought or driving high-end luxury cars. The show promotes normalcy with some great entertainment. No, I do not think they should be shut down. There is nothing wrong with the family promoting products.

That one Reddit post saddens me! They body shamed them and made remarks about addiction. You know that was an entitled punk who has no clue what real struggle looks like. Unfortunately for them, most of America does know struggle very well and they enjoy watching real people with real life issues that they have in common! I’m team Pumpkin all the way! How can you knock someone who hustles to make something from nothing?
