Since the beginning of the new year, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been under a microscope. They are both successful celebrities who live their lives in the public eye. This time around, though, their marriage has been under particular scrutiny.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton seem to spend more time apart these days than they spend together. Every day, it seems like they both have some new event or some other obligation that keeps them apart. It’s one thing to have busy schedules, but, more and more, fans of the couple worry that the writing is on the wall, and that they could be headed for a split soon.
No Doubt Singer Takes To The Sea With Special Honor
Gwen Stefani was recently the guest of honor as Carnival Cruise Line held the naming ceremony for its brand new ship, the Carnival Jubilee. Carnival chose Gwen Stefani to be the godmother of this new ship, a special honor that the Sweet Escape singer was glad to be chosen for.
Selecting someone as a ship’s godmother is a naval tradition that goes back a long time. This cruise line decided to bestow the honor on Gwen Stefani, as it is believed that having someone as a ship’s godmother brings good luck to the vessel on all of its future voyages.
Gwen Stefani thanked the cruise line for her special new title, adding that she feels “so honored.”

Gwen Stefani Partied Solo On Her New Ship Without Blake Shelton
This naming ceremony for the Carnival ship was a big deal. Gwen showed up as the guest of honor, and even treated onlookers to a unique performance. Gwen rubbed elbows with other celebs like iconic chef Emeril Lagasse. Emeril is the Chief Culinary Officer for Carnival, and he was present for this recent event.
All of this went down as Blake Shelton was elsewhere, absent from his wife’s big day. Fans following Blake Shelton know that he is right in the middle of his Back To The Honky Tonk Tour, which will keep him busy for the rest of March.
This was another big event that the husband and wife were apart for. Gwen and Blake have done their best to do damage control and squash the split speculation, but, with Blake on tour and Gwen rocking it solo with Carnival, this only fuels the split speculation more.
