Bachelor producers spilled the tea on the first season of The Golden Bachelorette casting. What is the latest news about the spin-off? Keep reading for all the details.

Producers Spill Tea On Golden Bachelorette Casting

Bachelor Nation fans are eagerly awaiting the Golden Bachelorette premiere. ABC confirmed last month that the spin-off is going to happen, and it will air sometime this fall after Season 21 of The Bachelorette.

The hot topic on talk shows and online forums is who will be the first-ever Golden Bachelorette. Host Jesse Palmer thinks it should be one of Gerry Turner’s rejected contestants from The Golden Bachelor. Others hope to start fresh with a lead outside the franchise.

Someone connected to the franchise was a guest on the Playing the Field: A Bachelor Podcast earlier this week. Casting director Jacqui Pitman joined the podcast to spill some tea about The Golden Bachelorette. She revealed that she’s already started interviewing men to be possible contestants in the upcoming season.

But more importantly, she subtly confirmed that the Golden Bachelorette lead has been chosen. She stopped short of revealing their name but said the woman is “amazing.”

When will ABC reveal their choice? According to The U.S. Sun, Bachelor Nation fans are anticipating an announcement at The Bachelor Season 25 Women Tell All later this month.

What Kind Of Men Are They Looking For?

Casting the Golden Bachelorette lead is probably the easiest part for the producers. Now they need to find 20+ eligible senior bachelors willing to look for love on reality TV.

Jacqui Pitman revealed on the podcast that she’s “already interviewed widowers, men who have been married once or twice.” What kind of men are they looking for? The casting director said she’s looking for men in “all shapes, sizes,” and with all kinds of diversity, including relationship history.

Her criteria are men who “have layers, great energy” and are “charismatic.” She’s looking for “real stories” that resonate with viewers.

Jacqui Pitman said she wants to know the “why” of each contestant’s story. For example, “Why were you married once or twice, why didn’t it last, why did you grow apart, why did you cheat if you cheated.”

During her interview, the casting agent encouraged men to apply if they think they’re a “great catch.” She was among the casting directors who chose Gerry Turner’s contestants. Several of those women, including Faith Martin and Leslie Fhima, are fans’ picks as The Golden Bachelorette.
