Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson is back in Georgia with her family so does that mean she is done with college? The Regis University freshman headed back a few weeks after her sister, Anna Cardwell passed away. Now, she is back but is there a specific reason? Read on for more details.
Honey Boo Boo Back In Georgia, Done With College?
In the current season of Mama June: Family Crisis, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson is struggling with her future. The college she wanted to go to is in Colorado but her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell got into trouble so he may not be able to come with her. Along with that, her sister, Anna Cardwell has cancer so Alana is very torn as to what the right decision is. Of course, per the show, she has limited time to decide as they offered her a 21K scholarship. She does end up going, Dralin by her side but has admitted it can be very hard. On the show, she said she was scared to not be with Anna if something happened.
Fortunately, Alana was there for Anna’s final days and spent time with her family after she passed. Then, she headed back to Colorado but now, she is home again. A follower caught her doing a live at Pumpkin’s house and shared it on Reddit. Here is what the OP wrote:

Now, according to the Regis University website, they are not currently observing any holidays or on vacation. So, what is she doing at home?
- Has anyone seen her in Colorado lately? She is home so much. It makes me wonder if she’s even in school
- I’m willing to bet she has already dropped out
- Maybe Dralin had court? Just a speculation…
- I hope she is happy. This makes me so sad for Alana.
Some Say ‘Break’
There were some Redditors who were adamant that Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson was home because it was a federal holiday. They even said that they had the school’s calendar but the last holiday they had off was January 15 for MLK Day. The next will be March 29th for Good Friday. Even some of Alana’s classmates chimed in saying that they did have class:
- Someone who goes to her school said they were not off yesterday and had class.
- I go to Regis. We did not have Monday off.
So, there is currently no rhyme or reason as to why she is home right now. Maybe most of her classes are online to accommodate the fact that she just went through a massive trauma. Or, she is given more leeway due to Anna’s passing. In any case, the school was open but she was not there unless her teachers opted to give the class the day off, which is entirely possible.
