Rachel Nance Talks Ups And Downs Of Nursing
Bachelor contestant Rachel Nance is sharing more on social media about how nursing has shaped her into who she is. She also shared the ups and downs that come along with being a nurse.
On Instagram, Rachel shared photos of her and Joey from their date. Her caption explained a lot. She began by saying,
Nursing is not my entire identity but a huge part of what makes me… me. It has allowed me to see humanity in a different light. Gain a new perspective on life and what to be grateful for. I have held a wife as she cries after being told her husband will not make it. I have held someone’s hand as they take their last breath. Nurses’ eyes have seen things we sometimes can’t put into words.
Rachel went on to say that healthcare workers take care of everyone else but who takes care of them? She pointed out that healthcare can take a toll on people. While it has its big rewards, it also has big challenges.
Rachel shared a few of the challenges she has faced. She said, “I have experienced assault in the work place (physical and verbal), racism, and more.”
It’s important for her to find a life partner who will be able to support her well-being and her mental health while being a nurse.
