Taylor Swift may very well be looking in another direction when it comes to her career. After all the awards she won, concerts she has given and songs she has recorded, the “Tim McGraw” singer might be looking into another career path for herself. With all of Taylor Swift’s success throughout her musical career, there is no reason to think she would have anything other than success, should she travel down a different road.

Her Novel Idea For A New Career

Taylor Swift is proving to be a young woman of many talents. Many of her fans may not know she has written a novel. She penned her book when she was only 14 years old.

The “You Belong To Me” singer wrote “A Girl Named Girl” while she and her family were on vacation when she was a young teenager. Instead of spending time on the water, which is what she would have normally done, the future Grammy winner chose to lock herself up in the family’s den and write a book.

What Is Known About “A Girl Named Girl”

There hasn’t been a lot of information about Taylor Swift’s first novel. The title is “A Girl Named Girl.” It has been reported to be about a girl who was born to a mother who had been hoping to have a son instead of a daughter.

“A Girl Named Girl” is currently in possession of Taylor Swift’s parents, Andrea and Scott. At the time of publication, it was unknown how long her parents have had possession of the book.

Taylor Swift has commented in the past that the reason she wrote “A Girl Named Girl” was because a shark washed up on the shore where she and family were spending their vacation. Not wanting to go into the water, the “Champagne Problems” singer stayed inside. While staying inside, Swift wrote a 350-400 page book.

Taylor Swift Delayed Becoming A Novelist

Instead of writing novels, Taylor Swift delayed that dream when she discovered music. Although she had wanted to write books, music became her passion instead. Writing songs has proven to be quite a lucrative career for Swift.

After speaking to a group children for Scholastic, Taylor Swift admitted her plans changed. ““But since then, I’ve discovered music and that’s the form of writing that inspires me the most. It’s not to say that I wouldn’t expand the mediums and the ways that I choose to write,” Swift said. “What if I end up writing a script or a book, or a book of poetry or something? That would be so amazing. I would love to see that happen.”

Taylor Swift’s Team Looking Into Trademarks

Taylor Swift’s team is currently researching trademarks. Her team originally filed for a trademark for “A Girl Named Girl” almost 10 years ago, in 2015. Since 2015, they have filed a total of three times with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

“A Girl Named Girl” isn’t the only trademark Taylor Swift’s team has filed for. They have also filed for a trademark for the phrase “The Tortured Poets Department,” her name of her album to be released shortly. They also filed for a trademark for the initials “TTPD.” The classifications those trademarks were filed under is merchandise. Merchandise would include such items as clothing and jewelry.
