Tom Schwartz Shares Sad Family Trauma
Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz is sharing his family trauma as it just seems to get worse. His personal life was overshadowed during Season 10. This was due to his involvement in ‘Scandoval.’ So, what is going on aside from that? Read on for more details.
Tom Schwartz Shares Sad Family Trauma
When Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules began, it was all about Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney dealing with their divorce. That shook Schwartz to his core as he did not expect Katie to ask for something such as that. At the same time, it made sense why she would want a divorce. He was invested in his new restaurant bar with Tom Sandoval. Plus, he did not take making a baby seriously so there were a plethora of long-standing problems. Unfortunately, ‘Scandoval’ broke not too long after the season began and that completely overshadowed the divorce.
Schwartz was also seen kissing Rachel Leviss in the previews which made even less sense after her affair with Tom Sandoval emerged. In the epic season finale, which was filmed six months after cameras originally went down, Schwartz said something about a brother. He has triplet brothers, Bert, Billy, and Brandon and one was apparently ill. Yet, he never fully got to address this due to the affair drama. Now, he is opening up about his family but it is not what fans would expect. When he met with Lisa Vanderpump at Vanderpump Dogs in the Wednesday, February 13th episode, Schwartz shared his brother was in the hospital.
He also shared that his brother had been in rehab. According to Page Six, Tom Schwartz told LVP this: “I didn’t realize it was this bad, but I think he has cirrhosis, and that’s really serious if you know anything about it.” He then went on to add privately: “Bert used to be this like ray of sunshine, and there was this moment where he got jumped outside of a bar, and he was just kinda never the same.” Schwartz shared that his brother gradually became dependent on alcohol.
Another Brother
Viewers may think that Bert is the brother that Tom Schwartz was talking about last season. However, that may not be true. As it turns out, Schwartz’s other brother, Brandon had a battle with cancer, as well. In September 2022, Schwartz shared a photo of Brandon with a full head of hair. He wrote that Brandon got his hair back after undergoing chemotherapy. So, this has not been the easiest time for Schwartz aside from the Sandoval drama but no one knew about it.
