It was reported that Pat Mahomes Sr. was picked up on a DWI charge over the weekend in Tyler, Texas. He was released on Sunday after posting a $10,000 bail. This isn’t the first time Pat Mahomes has been picked up for a DWI either. He was arrested twice for the same charge in 2012.

He was charged twice again in 2018 and a fifth time in 2019, which earned him some jail time. After completing a 40-day weekend work release program, it seemed like he had changed his ways. However, his latest run-in with the law marks his sixth DWI arrest.

“I’m very excited. Going back to another Super Bowl is more than anybody could even imagine. I’m just happy,” Pat told reporters as he celebrated the win with a cigar in hand. “I’m always proud of him. I was proud of him before he started playing football and it makes me even more proud that he is doing the things that he is doing now.”

The proud father also talked about whether or not Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback of all time. According to his dad, Patrick still has a ways to go before he can be considered the best of all time. “I have mad respect for Tom Brady and I grew up as a Joe Montana fan and those guys of that ilk. [Patrick] is on the right trajectory, but right now, I would still say those guys are better,” he said.

Pat Mahomes is a seasoned athlete as well. He played major league baseball in the 1990s before retiring in 2003, playing for the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Texas Rangers.
