‘Farmer Wants A Wife’ Better Than Dating Apps? Here’s Why
With Farmer Wants A Wife, FOX brings a new approach to finding your forever person. With a little hard work, grit, and some elbow grease, farmers are hoping to find love with ladies from the city. So, is this a recipe for success, or just a farm-themed train wreck?
Farmer Wants A Wife Puts A New Spin On Modern Dating
By this point, the reality dating space has been largely oversaturated. Whether it’s The Bachelor, Married at First Sight, Marrying Millions, Love Is Blind, or even Written in the Stars, which matches pairs based on their astrological signs, nearly everything has been tried in this niche.
That said, even though the latest reboot of Farmer Wants a Wife is only in its second season on FOX, it has been successfully matching couples in 35 different countries since the United Kingdom version hit television screens in 2001. All these years later, it’s a proven formula that FOX hopes to cash in on, with many saying this premise is a lot better than using modern dating apps.
Farmer Wants A Wife Season 2 Is Generating A Lot Of Buzz
On the heels of the success of Farmer Wants A Wife Season 1, FOX brought the show back for a second season. Already, it’s a big hit with viewers. With shows like Yellowstone being so popular, the image of the cowboy has certainly been glorified.
When it comes to all the hopefuls wanting to land their own Rip Wheeler on Farmer Wants a Wife Season 2, it’s not hard to see the appeal. Whether or not city girls find love with country boys is a storyline that writes itself. Also, with four new cowboys hoping to find love, that’s four new rugged hunks for watchers to ogle over.
FOX Show Better Than Dating Apps? Host Jennifer Nettles Thinks So
Whether or not this unorthodox approach to finding love actually works is one of the many reasons people are tuning in to watch. Recently, host Jennifer Nettles talked about why she believes this show is a much better alternative to modern dating apps.
According to the Sugarland singer, modern dating apps are “transactional” and “fake.” A big part of the reason she agreed to host was because she believes it is “an authentic way to make an old-fashioned connection.”
According to Nettles, when participants go to an event together or watch a football game, they are “spending time together” and “getting to know each other.” It seems the emphasis on building genuine connections is certainly striking a chord with viewers, too.
The way Nettles sees it, the show is “old-timey romance” rather than “freaking swiping right” on dating apps. Judging by the show’s popularity with Season 2 underway, it seems a lot of viewers agree.
