Daisy Kent’s sister shares how sick she really was
Daisy Kent’s sister set up a GoFundMe account for her two years ago when she was the most ill. The page started out saying, “I’m Adeline and this is my big sister and best friend Daisy. Please share this and pray for my sister.”
Adeline continued by saying how Daisy has always been there for her. She noted that Daisy is who she runs to when she’s having a bad day but then she remembers that Daisy’s day is ten times as hard due to her illness. She even said that sometimes when they FaceTime, Daisy is too weak to even get out of bed.
Adeline further detailed just how sick her sister is. She said,
Last year Daisy found out she has late-stage Lyme disease. My heart breaks thinking about the time I was told that my sister might not make it because she was so sick. I’ve had a front row seat watching her have seizures, hearing loss, meningitis, spinal taps, Meniere’s disease, fatigue, chronic pain. The Lyme disease has caused her to lose partial hearing in both ears. If you know Daisy you know how musically talented she is. Her voice is incredible.
She went on to share that Daisy is incredibly positive but that she’s still been fighting a hard fight her whole life.

Adeline shared more about the treatment
Adeline went on to say that the doctors were doing aggressive treatment on Daisy but it wasn’t working. So as she continued to decline in health and lose more hearing, they decided to send her to Germany for more treatment.
Her sister said, “The medical facility that will be taking her in August is St. Georg Kinik in Germany. St Georg Kinik is best equipped to handle cases like Daisy’s because of her seizures and has the best success rate for severe Lyme patients.”
Unfortunately, medical insurance would not pay for this treatment so her sister started the GoFundMe to try and help her family.

Daisy talked about this treatment during her time with Joey on their one-on-one date. After getting the treatment she continued to improve. However, her hearing is something that will never come back. She ended up getting cochlear implants and is learning to hear again.
At the time of this writing, $49,102 was raised for Daisy’s treatment.
Today, Daisy does not have any problems with Lyme disease following her treatment in Germany.
