Charity Lawson Reveals True Feelings About ‘Golden Bachelor’ Success
Bachelorette Charity Lawson shouted out the first season of ABC’s newcomer to the franchise, Golden Bachelor. It came ahead of her Dancing With the Stars Tour to Cincinnati. Bachelorette Charity Lawson Did Well In 2023
ABC fans who met the attractive therapist on Zach Shallcross’s season liked her. Mind you, a few of them felt that she cried a bit too much. Still, she went into her own season with a lot of support. Successfully engaged to Dotun Olubeko, she went on Dancing With the Stars where her popularity briefly dropped.
Currently, Charity Lawson is part of the Dancing With the Stars Tour, but she seems happy with the franchise as a whole in 2023. One of the reasons for that centers on The Golden Bachelor. In her opinion, the ABC franchise made the right decision when they introduced the new over-60s spinoff. Read on to find out why she feels it was such a success.
Golden Bachelor Was ‘What Bachelor Nation Needed’
In 2024, the Bachelorette‘s opinion counts and she carried herself through 2023 well enough to earn her place on the list of of Reality TV’s most powerful women. Speaking with David Wysong of the Cincinnati Enquirer on February 1, she responded to a lot of questions about Bachelor Nation. Asked about Gerry Turner’s season, she opined that it was “it’s exactly what Bachelor Nation needed.”
Charity Lawson believes that The Golden Bachelor brought the ABC franchise “back to life.” Enthusiastically, she elaborated on why she felt that way:
I just am really happy to see that demographic, that age of people, find love again. … It just spoke a lot about, when you get to that age, your life doesn’t have to fit in this timeline. You don’t know what to expect in our 60s or 70s. I think these women showed all of us there’s so much life to still be lived. Everyone is supposed to be having these opportunities, but for us to be seeing it on a public television show like this, it has never been done before and it was done beautifully.
Naturally, she also tipped her hat to the possibility of a Golden Bachelorette. Just like Bachelor Nation fans, she’s hoping for it as well. She said, “Honestly, I hope there’s a Golden Bachelorette. I will be tuned in.”
