Why Isn’t Taylor Swift Music On TikTok Anymore?
Fans are dying to know why Taylor Swift’s music is not on TikTok anymore. Users of the app TikTok realized this morning they could not find nor use any music made by Taylor Swift anymore. This has been a question many fans are searching for an answer to. What is the reasoning? It seems to be something legal.
Taylor Swift And Major Popularity
Taylor Swift has been popular for years but has exploded with her Eras Tour. This has been a now international tour that continues to sell out. Not only that, but she is also dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. This has made her be seen in public more than normal and fans love it. She will also be attending the Super Bowl this year and has the Grammy’s this weekend. The two started dating after she performed at Arrowhead Stadium. Travis wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it and the two have been inseparable ever since.

What Happened To Her Music?
Universal Music Group reached the end of their contract with TikTok and does not want to resign it. They accused TikTok of being a “bully” and not wanting to pay what they should to the artists. TikTok came back with:
“Despite Universal’s false narrative and rhetoric, the fact is they have chosen to walk away from the powerful support of a platform with well over a billion users that serves as a free promotional and discovery vehicle for their talent,”
Universal Music Group does not approve of the amount TikTok is paying the artists. It seems as though this is a disagreement between the two businesses legally and truly does not have anything to do with the artist themselves. UMG also holds the music to Drake, SZA, Harry Styles, Ariana Grande, and so many more. So, if they are all taken off, what does that mean for TikTok?

It seems as though Universal Music Group just wants their artists to be paid properly and wants the app to be a safe space. This has shocked fans, and no one knows if the music will ever be back on the platform and fans are unsure how that will go. UMG covers several popular artists, and it may take TikTok down a notch. Do you think they will reach an agreement? Did you notice the music missing? Sound off in the comments below.
