Jason Tartick Reveals What He’d Go Back And Change
Bachelorette alum Jason Tartick reveals what he would go back and change with Kaitlyn Bristowe if he could. In Jason’s new book, he talks about going back in time and doing things a lot differently. What exactly does he mean? Keep reading to find out more.
Jason Tartick talks importance of discussing finance
Jason Tartick and Kaitlyn Bristowe announced their split last summer. When they first broke up fans hoped they would reconcile. Now, she is moving on and he seems to be okay with it. So, reconciliation seems like it will definitely not happen.
As time moves on, each of them are talking a little more about their split. Jason even addressed it in his new book, Talk Money to Me: The 8 Essential Financial Questions to Discuss With Your Partner. In the book, he discusses what he wishes he would have done when first getting serious with Kaitlyn.
People shared the scoop. First of all, Jason said, “Through my research, I found that money fights are the second leading cause of divorce, right behind marital infidelity.”
He went on to say that just the act of not talking about money in relationships creates separation and issues. He learned about money at an early age thanks to his grandfather. Jason worked in finance for nearly ten years before joining The Bachelorette.
Jason said of things his grandfather taught him, “During our lessons he said something that has stuck with me ever since: ‘When it comes to money management with yourself and loved ones, you must understand the importance of financial transparency.’ From that moment on, financial transparency has always been a big part of my life.”
What he would change with Kaitlyn
Jason said, “If I could go back in time, I would shake myself by the shoulders and yell, ‘Wake the hell up from the love clouds, Jason! These conversations are mandatory!’”
He was referring to the fact that he didn’t have any financial conversations with Kaitlyn. They didn’t talk about retirement plans, debt, credit scores, or even net worth.
They knew nothing about each other from a financial standpoint. He regrets that and says it was against everything he’s ever preached. He said they were too caught up in love and life to talk about anything of importance like money. Jason said, “I made financial assumptions and avoided talking money! At move-in time, we didn’t have transparency on each other’s financial status, and we didn’t have a plan for our financial future together.”
Some are assuming that his words make it appear that they were having money issues they didn’t agree on. So far Jason has not clarified.
What do you think about him wanting to go back in time and have these important discussions?
