Fans Call Out Major ‘Bachelor’ Screw Up

Did Joey Break A Bachelor Nation Record?
Season 28 of The Bachelor kicked off earlier this week with a bang. Or should we say with a kiss? Joey Graziadei locked lips with multiple women after meeting them in the mansion. In fact, he kissed seven women in total!
Is that a new record in Bachelor Nation? The official Bachelor Instagram seems to think so. They posted photos of Joey smooching five of the seven women with the caption “breakin’ records.”
However, eagle-eyed fans spotted something wrong with the post.
Fans Call Out Major Bachelor Screw Up
With 32 contestants with similar looks, it’s easy to confuse them, right? Bachelor Nation fans took to Reddit to call out the show’s social media team for misidentifying one of the contestants in the kissing photo.
The Bachelor Instagram originally tagged Lea Cayanan instead of Jenn Trann.
“There are only 3 Asians and they couldn’t tag the right one but they can somehow distinguish the number of blondes each season,” the OP wrote on the Reddit thread.
One fan wasn’t surprised by the mishap and replied, “Of course they did. How hard is it to identify your own contestants?”
“So messed up and they don’t even look alike,” another agreed.
People of color being misidentified by the media is nothing new. In 2023, the BBC showed a photo of actress Viola Davis in a story about singer Beyoncé.
It’s probably not even the first time it’s happened in the history of the Bachelor franchise. But hopefully, it will be the last.
Error Goes Unnoticed
The Instagram post has since been corrected. The photo is now tagged to Jenn’s Instagram account. It doesn’t seem that anyone else caught the error aside from the one who posted about it on Reddit.
Instead, the comments were flooded with names of favorite contestants so far and other chatter. Contestant Lauren Hollinger dropped the comment, “hahaha looking good sis.”
She’s competing in Season 28 alongside her sister, Allison. Her sister is one of the women who nabbed a kiss from the Bachelor. Check out some of the other comments:
