Erika Jayne Gets Lackluster Response To $750K Earring Redemption
Erika Jayne received a lackluster response to her $750K earring redemption. The RHOBH star shared this victory on the Wednesday, January 24th episode. She was trying to make a point but, unfortunately, it did not come out the way that she had hoped. Read on for more details.
Erika Jayne Gets Lackluster Response To $750K Earring Redemption
In Season 12, Erika Jayne’s $750K earrings were a hot topic. Her co-stars felt that they should be returned as they were a gift from her estranged husband, Tom Girardi. He had embezzled millions of dollars from his clients so the big question was if they were purchased with stolen money. More than that, some of the RHOBH cast felt she should turn the earrings over out of principle which she eventually did. Furthermore, they believed she should have respect for the victims of her ex’s crimes but she let them know it would be handled in a court of law.
The ladies all headed to Spain and learned that Crystal Kung Minkoff had said some unkind things about them. Finally, when they gathered together, Erika could not wait to tell her and some of the others about a new revelation. According to People, this is what the performer shared:
“I would just like to share some happy news I got in the morning and I think it’s important. Attached are the two decisions by the district court on our appeal regarding the earrings. The district court reverses the bankruptcy court’s turnover order.”
She went on to explain privately: “In other words, you can’t prove that the money used to buy my earrings was client money. You can’t do that so they shouldn’t have been taken in the first place.” Of course, this was vindication for Erika but her co-stars did not feel the same way. She went on to reiterate that she knew this would happen, it was just a matter of time. However, the other women were not so thrilled about her win, especially Garcelle Beauvais.
Lackluster Response
Garcelle Beauvais felt that Erika Jayne was not reacting properly. She shared her feelings about the situation in a confessional:
“I wish she would just let the earrings go and give something back to the victims so that you can sleep at night, so you feel like, you know, even though you’re not guilty, you’re giving back to the victims. You need good karma!”
Erika still felt that the ladies could have been much more supportive. She did not expect a parade, clearly, but she wanted much more than she got from them.
