In the last season of Family Crisis, Josh Efird was seen struggling with money. He went to get gas and got stuck at the pump. His card was declined and he had to go call his wife, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird which led viewers to ask what exactly he did for a living. He had a variety of jobs but it was more or less taking care of the children. Then, he really gained a fanbase with the way he was with Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson and how protective he was of her. However, that has since changed with his treatment of his niece, Kaitlyn.
She has been in the custody of Mama June Shannon since her mother, Anna Cardwell passed away at the age of 29. The family has been very active on social media, promoting themselves, and selling merchandise. It seems that Josh has gotten in on the game, as well. Pumpkin and her sisters have The Sisters Closet where they sell “handmade” merch but what is Josh doing? According to a Reddit thread, this is what the OP wrote:
- Looks like a new hobby, a piece of material and that thing in his hand is some sort of gun with thread in it. He’s literally sewing this with the gun and people are literally asking him if he’s selling it.😳😳 are you kidding me it looks like a damn piece of junk

Josh Efird received a lot of support for his rugmaking hobby. In fact, they were very impressed that, even though it is quite simple, he could make decent cash. Additionally, they liked that he was crafting the item rather than reselling as Pumpkin and Honey Boo Boo had been doing. Recently, Pumpkin could not understand why she had been turned away from a vendor event. She alleged all of her items were original but fans disputed this.

Why not just get a real job? Or possibly enroll in some type of trade school? The money problem is solved. Or at least an attempt to make a better life, for himself & family.
