Recently a new preview was released showing Pauly Shore depicting famous fitness guru, Richard Simmons. Within the trailer, Pauly bears a striking resemblance to the highly recognizable star, aka, The Weight Saint.
Pauly Shore Depicts The Legend
The preview for the Jack Lewis-directed film is described as “Pauly Shore plays Richard Simmons in a new short film coming soon to The Lewis Brothers video channel.” Within the clip, Pauly sports a red curly wig and is dressed in Richard Simmons’ famous fitness style. In particular, wearing a blue jeweled tank top and short shorts showing he is ready to rock. The short video seems to hold to the spirit of what Richard stood for by providing encouragement and fun for people to help them face their weight challenges.
Pauly Shore Delivers An Inspirational Message As Richard Simmons
During the quick teaser for the biopic short film, The Court Jester, Pauly Shore delivers a heartfelt scene as Richard Simmons. Undeniably, showcasing the glitz and glory of the former world-renowned instructor, he imparts an inspirational message to his assistant.
Capturing his eccentric, high energy, Richard asks a rhetorical question to his assistant before answering, “What’s my first rule? – Like yourself.” Then offering more encouragement he says, “If you like yourself, you’re going to be fine.” Reassuringly he says, “But I’ve been where you are right now.” Following he looks him in the eye and adds, “And where I am right now, I just love myself. Every part of myself.” Then gently reaches to touch his nose and says, “And I think I can show you how to get here.”
Fans Respond To The Clip
After the release of The Court Jesterteaser, fans reacted to Pauly Shore playing the part:

In particular, one person pleads for the “powers that be” to make this into more than a short film like Pauly has expressed. “Dear Hollywood, please give us this one. Please give the people what they want, which is 120 minutes of Pauly Shore absolutely serving as Richard Simmons. Please and thank you.”
“Flawless casting.”

But not long after the clip was released, the mostly reserved Richard Simmons, himself, tweeted a message about Pauly Shore’s promotion. Furthermore, in Richard’s pleasant manner, he addresses The Court Jester teaser:
“Hi Everybody! You may have heard they may be doing a movie about me with Pauly Shore. I have never given my permission for this movie. So don’t believe everything you read. I no longer have a manager, and I no longer have a publicist. I just try to live a quiet life.”
