‘NCIS: Origins’ Will Feature Familiar Trio In Prequel Spinoff
Fans are getting excited about the new prequel spinoff NCIS: Origins. This new series will feature Young Leroy Jethro Gibbs. This will be the Origin Story of his early days at NCIS. Moreover, this will include his time with Mike Franks.
However, it appears there will be a third person who will be part of this new series.
Here is more of the highly anticipated CBS military procedural drama.
NCIS: Origins Will Include Origin Story Of Trio
When NCIS: Origins was announced, the news was that this would be the Origin Story of Leroy Jethro Gibbs when he joined NCIS. Taking place in 1991, Gibbs is a “newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks.”
Therefore, it should be of no surprise that there is at least one more agent that will be part of this series.
According to TV Line writer Michael Ausiello, “producers will also be introducing the young version of Special Agent Vera Strickland, the character originated by Roma Maffia a decade ago in the Season 11 NCIS installment ‘Under The Radar’ In the episode, it was established that Strickland was Franks’ onetime partner.”
However, the NCIS rep has “declined” comment.
Therefore, this new series will include Franks and his partner Strickland. This is a whole new vein of stories that promise to be pretty fantastic.
Who Is Portraying Leroy Jethro Gibbs?
One of the big questions is whether or not Sean Harmon will play a younger version of his father, Mark Harmon again in NCIS: Origins. No he will not. Many fans may remember he Sean has played a younger version of his dad in the past. While this new series was Sean’s idea, he is not going to star in this series.
Therefore, they will need to find a new blue-eyed actor to portray the younger Gibbs, as well as an actor for Franks, and now Special Agent Vera Strickland. These castings, and more will certainly be announced in the weeks to come.
It is likely that they will start production of this series in the summer, so the first step is cast and scripts. Therefore, the news stream will be continues until the premiere. One thing that is for sure, Sean Harmon is excited to be involved in this new project, along with his father, David J. North, and Gina Lucita Monreal.
I always felt there was a tale worth telling about his earlier years, so I am thrilled into a producing role alongside Gina, David, and my dad as we tell this story and reveal a new side of his beloved character.
