Alyssa is presently doing missionary work. She did a part-time job at Pots and Petals Florist in Lake City, TN. The Bringing Up Bates star used to work with her husband’s business of cleaning commercial buildings as well. But it seems that Alyssa is now spending more time being a housewife. She also has an active YouTube channel, which also generates income.

Meanwhile, her husband, John Webster, is currently working at his family’s air conditioning company, Webster Air Conditioning & Heating Inc., in Orlando, Florida. The married couple has five kids together named Allie, Lexi, Zoey, Maci, and Rhett. Alyssa likes to share updates about them. But it seems not many are impressed with her recent content about Lexi.

Alyssa Slammed For Exploiting Kids

Some Redditors are calling out Alyssa for her recent vlog. The Bringing Up Bates star uploaded a 15-minute video about why Lexi got sent to a hospital. Everything went well for her daughter. However, many are upset about her “clickbait” thumbnail and title that says, “We rushed Lexi to the Hospital!” Some also slammed Alyssa for using her kids to make money.

“Alyssa using her kids for clickbaits newest video Poor Child in a hospital and momma needs to film every detail guess that car money needs to come back to John’s bank account,” the poster said.
“When it involves the kids, thats a major nope. how any parent can stand there with a camera/phone in their hand and film when there kid is in distress/ pain etc is just vile and disgusting,” one person said.
“I dont care what they post about themselves…hell i liked Josie ig video about the christmas party she had some great food!! ..but for god sake respect the kids privacy!!” another commenter added.

Bringing Up Bates: This Wasn’t The First Time For Alyssa Bates

This wasn’t the first time Alyssa got called out for her controversial actions toward her kids. In December 2023, the Bringing Up Bates star was criticized for putting her kids’ lives in danger during a family gathering. According to some Redditors, Alyssa let her kids play and run around an enclosed pool with sliding doors.

“The sliding doors, I would guess, are about 15 feet from the pool’s edge. Is John such a cheapskate that he won’t put a fence or a pool cover to safeguard his kids against drowning? It’s unreal,” one person said.
“They used to have a (half-used) screen between the sitting area and the pool. I haven’t seen it in a while. And yes, this makes me so nervous for those kids,” another commenter added.

Despite the criticisms, Alyssa Bates continues to make YouTube content with her family. She even took to YouTube on December 30 to share a vlog where they painted their whole house.
