Rachel Lindsay Breaks Silence About Bryan Abasolo Split
Rachel Lindsay has kept quiet about the end of her marriage. What did she say when she finally broke her silence? Keep reading for all the details.
Rachel Lindsay & Bryan Abasolo Split
Rachel Lindsay has tried hard to keep her relationship with Bryan Abasolo out of the public eye. The couple fell in love during Season 13 of The Bachelorette. They wed in the summer of 2019, and he relocated from Florida to California, moving his entire medical practice with him.
However, keeping her relationship out of the spotlight led to years of rumors about trouble in their marriage. It turns out those rumors had some truth behind them.
Bryan Abasolo kicked off the new year by filing for divorce from his wife of four years. He then took to his social media to issue a statement about it.
Rachel Lindsay is one of the most outspoken Bachelor Nation alums, but the divorce filing seemingly stunned her into silence. It took her three days before she addressed the situation.
Bachelorette Fights Back Tears In First Public Appearance
While Rachel didn’t speak publicly until now, she let one small action speak for her. She’s kept a low public profile since the shocking news broke on Tuesday.
But on Friday, January 5, she was ready for the public to see her for the first time. She joined Van Latham for an episode of their Higher Learning podcast.
At the very start of the podcast, her co-host checked in on her. Rachel fought back tears as she struggled to speak. “I didn’t think I’d get emotional,” she said.
She went on to thank everyone who had reached out to her in the last few days. “You just never know how great your circle is until you see all the people that reach out and love you.”
Rachel Lindsay Breaks Silence About Divorce
A close friend of Rachel’s appeared on Today With Hoda & Jenna earlier this week. He shared that the Bachelor alum was in “survival mode” after the sudden divorce filing.
PEOPLE magazine reports the paperwork listed the date of separation as December 31, 2023.
Rachel Lindsay admitted to taking it one day at a time in her first public remarks on her podcast. “Obviously it’s a difficult time — if you’ve read the headlines — and you’re probably wondering why I would even work,” she said.
Rachel continued, “But to be honest with you, I need to distract myself from myself, and the best way to do that is to do something that I love, and I love Higher Learning.”
She declined to go into further detail about what led to her divorce from Bryan Abasolo and whether she was blindsided by his timing. However, she promised listeners she would speak more about it someday. “I will eventually, but now is not the time, [I’m] just trying to take it day by day.”
Her co-host tried to lighten up the mood by cracking a joke. “This is in reaction, obviously, this is to Texas losing in the college football playoff. I knew that that would affect you.”
