‘sMothered’ Fans Mourn Mary’s Husband, Frank Canuto
sMothered fans are mourning Mary Cooper’s late husband, Frank Canuto. They are likely remembering him now, several years after his passing, because Mary and Brittani were gone from the show. The duo just returned this season but sadly, without Frank. Read on for more details.
sMothered Fans Mourn Mary’s Husband, Frank Canuto
For Season 5 of sMothered, Mary and her daughter, Brittani, are one of the few returning duos. Fans have not seen them in some time but they do remember their co-dependency. They would shower and do colonics together which was extremely offputting. Now, they still bathe at the same time but Brittani is in the see-through shower while Mary is in the tub. Plus, Brittani has a boyfriend but her mother thinks he is trying to control and change her. Fans may recall during Season 2, Brittani shared she was interested in girls and did not like Mary’s boyfriend, Frank Canuto.
He sadly passed away in November 2020 but fans did not get to properly mourn as they learned from Reddit and then from Mary’s social media. Mary and Frank did tie the knot before he died which is bittersweet. Mary and Brittani are back so fans are missing Frank. They started a Reddit thread to essentially mourn and remember what a great man he was. The OP had no interest in sMothered and then they saw Mary and Brittani:
- I just caught…idk I’m assuming the pilot, and I remember hearing Frank passed a few years back and was heart broken then, but this episode is making me saaaaad all over again. He was really so handsome, and tried so hard to be a nice step dad to his crazy step daughter and clearly had a lot of love for Mary.
They concluded the post with “f**k cancer man.” It seems that others felt the same about him, as well, and shared in the mourning:

Who Are They Without Frank?
Three episodes of sMothered have already aired this season but who are Mary and Brittani without Frank Canuto as their foil? Sadly, it seems that Brittani is trying to break free from her mother but Mary won’t allow it. She is still foul-mouthed and in everybody’s business. Brittani wants to start her life and enjoy her time with her boyfriend, TJ. Yet, she always has Mary in the back of her mind. That could be because her mother does not have that constant partner to lean on.
