The Bachelor Nation franchise has its first casualty of 2024. Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay’s marriage is over. Keep reading for all the details.

Rachel Lindsay’s Husband Files For Divorce

The Bachelor franchise saw a lot of splits in 2023, including all three couples from Season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise. Fans were hoping that the new year would bring better luck, especially with Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s Golden Wedding airing live this week.

However, news broke just two days into the new year that Rachel Lindsay‘s husband filed for divorce after four years of marriage. She met Bryan Abasolo during Season 13 of The Bachelorette. Rachel was the first Black female lead in the franchise.

Bryan proposed during the season finale, and the two married in 2019. The two previously spoke about wanting children together, but it never happened.

Rachel recently made headlines for saying that they live entirely different lives. She clarified that she meant they are both busy in their own lives, but their split isn’t a complete shock.

According to court documents confirmed by Page Six, Bryan filed the divorce papers on January 2, 2024. He listed the day of their separation as December 31, 2023.

What happened that made him file so quickly? Neither reality star has publicly addressed the split yet.

The Bachelorette Couple Celebrated Fourth Anniversary Months Ago

Many Bachelor Nation fans blame Rachel Lindsay for Chris Harrison’s exit from the franchise. The Bachelor host came under fire for his comments to Rachel during an interview when she was a correspondent for Extra.

At the time, Chris was defending Bachelor Season 25 contestant Rachael Kirkconnell from allegations of racism. However, he came under fire for being dismissive of Rachel Lindsay.

He ultimately left the franchise over the situation.

Rachel has since left her TV gig but still didn’t seem to spend much time with her husband. They posted a photo together back in August of a beach vacation to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary.

Bryan listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and is asking for spousal support.

During an August appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast, Rachel admitted that her relationship with Bryan was “up and down.”

Does it surprise you that Bryan Abasolo and Rachel Lindsay’s marriage is over? Who do you think will be the next Bachelor Nation couple to split? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Don’t miss the Golden Wedding on ABC on Thursday, January 4, at 8 PM Eastern.
